Vehicle Description This is an excellent running and driving Rambler. I have owned this car for 12 years and no longer have a place to store it. I replaced the engine in 1997 with a 232 that had 10,000 miles on it. This engine was removed from a 1966 Rambler Rouge in the 60's for a V8. The engine was stored in a garage for 30 years with oil in the cylinders. The engine now has only 19,000 miles on it and runs like new. The transmission was completely rebuilt (including a new torque converter) in 1999, at 54,000 miles. The brakes are in good shape and work fine. This car drives great and has no trouble keeping up with freeway traffic. It could be driven anywhere. The interior is all original and in very good condition. There are some tears in the front seat bottom and I have it covered, other than that the interior is excellent. The car was repainted in 2000 with the original color in acrylic enamel. A little rust has developed on the rear fenders just above the wheels (see the Pictures). The paint is nice overall with just a few blemishes. The front bumper has a tear from being pulled out at some point. The car is very solid, only a small hole in the floor under the gas pedal, easily fixed. The gas filler neck needs a new rubber hose as this one leaks, leaks when filling. The gas gauge does not work and I believe requires a new sensor. There is also some slight fogging in some of the windows due to age, can be buffed out. The heater core is not hooked up and hasn't been as long as I've owned the car. I am unaware of the condition of the heater core, appears o.k. This is a unique and rare car that is fun to drive, runs great, and is in nice original shape. The original engine was a 232 and was removed because of a bad rod bearing. The heater was never plumbed as long as I have owned the car, I don't know the condition of the blower or heater core.
