Vehicle Description 1970 American Motors Hornet. First model year of series. Factory Orange paint still in fairly good shape. Some minor dents, very little rust. Rust limited to two areas of front floor wells that were under a rubber floor mat. Front and rear window channels are rust free, see pics. Otherwise rust free inside and underneath. See pics for rust situation in interior and trunk areas. 232 six cylinder engine. Three speed manual transmission. Engine disassembled by nephew of previous owner. New owner will most likely want to upgrade to V-8 power anyhow. Four wheel drum brakes. Manual disc brake system from a 73 model included. Steel wheels now on car are also from same donor 73 model, so they will clear the discs when installed. Floor shift steering column from later Concord also included. Full size spare and four new blackwall P195 70 R14 tires on car. Car has valid New Mexico title signed by previous owner. This is an excellent example of an original American Motors two door Hornet, that has very little body corrosion. Car needs restoration of interior and rebuild of front suspension due to desert heat and age. Front and rear benches included, front has been recovered, rear's fabric is dry rotted away. Springs, metal, and seat frames in excellent shape. Car is located near interchange of Interstates 10 and 25, aprox 50 miles north of downtown El Paso, Texas. Winning bidder needs to make arrangements for pickup at this location. Will assist with loading of car.
