Vehicle Description
I bought this car from a friend of mine several years ago. It was his grandmother's car, and it had not been on the road since the early 80s. I had the gas tank cleaned and coated, converted to internal regulator alternator, and new tires. My dad replaced the brakes, and didn't get the axle nut tightened all the way and stripped the axle, so I had to get another one. In the process I found out that it is the heavy duty, V8 rearend. The rearend whines a little now, it may go away or need shims, I don't know much about these rearends. A couple of months ago it started running rough so I took the carb off and it had some dirt in it, maybe from the existing line I did not replace. It ran fine for a few weeks, and now it won't start. I don't know if it is the carb again or something else, but I have too many other projects to do anything else with this one. The engine does not smoke and the transmission shifts fine. I put a seat cover over the front because it needs to be recovered. The interior needs to be redone, but for a daily driver it would be fine. There is some rust around the rear fender wells, but that is about all.
