If you are looking for a great original car you will have to look hard to find a nicer one. This car is beautiful and gets attention everywhere I stop. Original paint still is in great condition with a great shine. It is blue snd white. There are several small paint chips and some minor surface rust around the rear fender where the exhaust emptied too close to the body ,but, not bad enough that I wanted to disturb the original paint to repair it. Bumpers and chrome are in great condition also. I had to replace the gas cap and it is still in primer. This car was garaged most or all of its life. Glass is all good. There is some surface rust pitting on the chrome edging on door windows. The Marlin came out in 1965. In 1966, Dodge Charger came on the market, looking like a copy of the Marlin both rear and side view. The fastback style then was very popular. The interior is in great condition with original door panels, padded dash , headliner and carpet. The carpet has minor wear under the driver side floor mat but is still the original. I had the seats reupholstered to exact original pattern except for white beading where the original had a silver beading. Front seats are bucket style which meet in the middle. Original AM radio still works. The engine is a 287 C.I. V-8 with 2-barrel Holley carburetor. I recently drove it on a trip to Oklahoma on a 1200 mile round trip. We got around 16 MPG on gas and did not have to add any oil. This car runs and handles like a new one. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere in the country. Automatic transmission works great, have never had any problem with it. Newer exhaust sustem and new tires all around. I have driven this car about 3,000 miles since owning it and never had any problems with it. I like to make sure when I sell a car that I tell all problems honestly. I know it is hard to decide on a purchase from just pictures. I will list all problems I know the car needs. I recently put new kits in the front brake rotors and notice the right front one still leaks when sitting. I probably did something wrong there. The radiator has a small pinhole on the top of radiator. Nothing serious, but may need repaired later on. Fuel guage does not work. I have not really checked it out to see why. Possibly tank sending unit bad. I never drive my old cars in the rain, but, on our trip to Oklahoma we got caught in a driving rain storm. Made me sick to be caught out in the storm. The front windshield dripped inside while driving in the rain. I have since sealed where I thought it was leaking but won't know again until wash or rain. I cannot think of anything else other than these few minor repairs it needs. I do not have underside pictures, but, the floors and the trunk are absolutely solid with no rust. The underside has undercoating on it which probably kept it in nice shape. Trunk mat is original with original paint underneath. If you like original, this is a great example. They only made about 10,327 Marlins in 1965 so it is very rare to find a nice original like this.I don't claim this to be a perfect show car, but, it would look nice at any car show. Any car can be restored, but, being original can only happen once! Restored cars can hide many problems. If you have any questions, please call me. Gary 402-873-7410. If you want other photos, let me know also. Fly in and drive it home. I would not sell this car except recent medical bills are telling me they are more important than the car.
