THERE ARE A NUMBER OF REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER a 1997 or newer Acura NSX. The complete list of the major automotive performance improvements listed below are ALL present ONLY in the 1997-2005 NSX model years.
1. NO COSTLY SNAP RING TRANSMISSION REPAIR ISSUE to worry about or cost you dearly when it breaks.
2. 1997 is the 1ST YEAR for the LARGER, MORE POWERFUL 3.2 Liter 292 HORSEPOWER V-6 All Aluminum VTEC Engine with a vastly improved 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance times (see actual times below)
3. 1997 is the 1ST YEAR for the 6 SPEED MANUAL Transmission giving you better driving flexibility and performance than previous models + better gas mileage.
4. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING included with the manual transmission (formerly only available with the Automatic Transmission before the 1995 model year)
5. The 1997 included the much LARGER BRAKE ROTORS which also necessitated the LARGER WHEELS and TIRES (17 Rear and 16 Front)
6. REMOVABLE TARGA ROOF option available (95 and newer models) allows you to quickly change the car into a convertible to enjoy the nice weather. The Targa Roof is simple and easy to remove and stow (see picture) and generally takes less than a couple of minutes to make the conversion.

DETAILS REGARDING THE SALVAGE HISTORY ON THE NSX ARE AS FOLLOWS:
The car entered service and pretty much spent it's entire life in Texas ending up in Houston where it was stolen in late 2006 and was subsequently recovered and sold to a California buyer. According to the pictures (which I have available to you) it suffered only some light scraping of the exterior body. There was no crumpling of the body in any manner and definitely NO FRAME DAMAGE whatsoever. Generally after the insurance carrier pays the claim to their insured the car is then either auctioned or sold directly to a repair shop who then makes the necessary repairs and applies for a "salvaged" title certificate after the repairs have been made. The eBay AutoCheck history report (which is similar to Carfax) does not indicate a theft recovery history, only that it has a California Title with a notation of "Salvaged" as a result of the minor exterior damage repairs (absolutely NO frame, structural, electrical, or engine damage whatsoever). All of the necessary repairs were completed in southern California (North Hollywood Area) by a well known NSX aluminum body repair and rebuild craftsmen who has personally repaired or rebuilt more than 100 Acura NSX's over the past 10 years.
It may also be noted, and this is my opinion, that there is a fair amount of security and peace of mind in knowing that the state of California is well known for having some of the most stringent inspections and highest certification standards of oversight before a "Salvaged" Certificate of Title is approved for issue on any applicable vehicle within the state. Any and all necessary mechanical, electrical, structural, emissions, and safety issues are addressed with full and complete accountability as required by California state law before the vehicle is qualified to be authorized to return to service within the state. Rest assured that this NSX is very, very nice and shows to be presently in need of nothing beyond what was necessary and required to bring it back into service.

Exterior This low-slung sports car comes as a hardtop coupe and as the NSX-T with a removable Targa roof panel that weighs just 19 pounds, thanks to the weight-saving aluminum used for the body. The rear styling features an integrated spoiler that includes the center-mounted brake light.
Interior Despite the road-hugging styling, the NSX is easier to get in and out of than many sports cars, and it has enough room for taller people to sit comfortably. TIRES - PLEASE NOTE that I have just installed a brand new set of Dunlop Z-rated tires. They are excellent tires and have less than 250 miles of tread wear on them. According to TireRack.com customer reviews the NSX driver favors these tires for the low (very minimal) tread noise as well as the excellent handling on both wet and dry pavement.
NEW BRAKES PADS and ROTORS were installed approximately 1,000 miles ago and function perfectly.
CLUTCH has very little play (as it should be) indicating that it is likely not the original clutch. Upon inspection, my local Acura dealer told me that the clutch has likely been replaced in the past 5-10,000 miles based on how it feels and functions.
AIR CONDITIONER and HEATER Climate Control system operates properly.
MECHANICALLY and ELECTRICALLY everything about this NSX operates and functions correctly as it should.
