Vehicle Description
This auction is for a 1994 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Ce (Commemorative Edition). This is a limited production numbered vehicle that is one of the last cars produced with a production number of 172 out of 190 manufactured. This Spider is a very rare car and is one of the last 18 manufactured. The car was purchased new in April 1994 in Fresno CA. It was paid for in cash by an older couple who had used it as their weekend car. A one owner vehicle that spent most of it’s life in California and most recently in Texas. I took possession of the Alfa last year and it has been in storage since arriving from Texas. I have the original purchase receipt documenting when it was purchased and the original Texas title.
The body is in good original condition with no dents or rust. The red paint looks like 14 year old paint. It looks good for a driver, but if you want to make it look perfect, it would really need a repaint. The clear coat on the 3rd brake light and the front cowl by the wipers and the front bumper are worn. The rubber body parts on the car are faded a bit-most noticeable are the exterior mirrors, the front and rear bumpers. The driver's side left rear quarter panel looks to be a shade off as well. This is due to the strong California/Texas sun. Some normal stone chips on the nose of the car. All of the chrome is in excellent condition. As mentioned – no rust that I can find – rockers, floor pans and jacking points all solid and rustfree.
The Black interior is in excellent condition showing very little wear. The seats are in very nice condition with no rips or tears. Both the door panels look good. The carpet is in very nice condition as well. The dash does have the typical cracks near the defroster vents.
Mechanically the car is in good running condition. It starts up easily and runs strong. The car has been in storage for the last year. The convertible top is in good shape however the interior of the top is a bit faded due to being in the sun without the top boot. The factory alloys are all in nice shape including the spare. Has working A/C.
Some known issues: Odometer stopped working. Shows 77,000 miles – actual miles are estimated at 85,000. Knob for radio is missing. Crack in windshield on the passenger side lower portion. Needs rubber exhaust hanger for the rear exhaust section. It has a trunk mounted CD changer that I am not sure if it works. The trim panel for the trunk release is cracked and should be replaced. Air bag light goes on sometimes, but was told air bag works fine.
The car has all of the special Ce upgrades including the Ce badge on the nose and the left rear body. It has the numbered dash plaque “#172”. It has the special gold wheel center caps. The dash is trimmed in special wood and also a special wood shift knob. I have the original factory owners manual and the special pouch that came with the Ce’s.
As stated this is a very rare numbered Commemorative Edition that will always be a great investment. Probably one of the rarest Alfa Spider’s available today. This is a rare opportunity to buy a very unique Alfa since the Commemorative Editions are rarely sold. This is one of newest Spider's availble. This car has been part of my personal collection of Alfa’s, but another opportunity has come up and I must offer this to another Alfisti. I am looking for good home for this very special Alfa Spider. I have done my best to describe the Alfa – I may have left something out, so if there is something that hasn’t been listed, send me an email and I’ll respond ASAP. This Alfa is 14 years old, and is not a perfect car. It looks good for it’s age, but it’s not a garage queen. Please note that the convertible top boot shown in a few of the pictures DOES NOT come with the car. That top boot is from my other Spider. The previous owner did not have the top boot.
The Alfa is being sold “as is” with no warranty. If you have 0 feedback or more than 2 negative feedbacks, please contact me before bidding. A non-refundable $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance must be paid for within 7 days of the auction end date. Payment by bank check or if picking up in person by cash. The car must be picked up within 10 days of the auction end date. A storage fee of $10.00 per day will be charged if the car is not picked up within 10 days unless special arrangements have been made. If you have any questions ask before you bid. Reserve has been set for a very reasonable price. I reserve the right to end the auction early.
