Vehicle Description
This is a 1973 BMW 2002tii that makes a stylish and fuel efficient daily driver for those who want a functional classic that won't break the bank. The body is in great shape, with 6 month old paint that needs its first polishing, I was told that it needed to cure 6 months before polishing, but even now it looks great. The chrome trim and bumpers were taken off for the paint, I have not yet reattached them, all that one would need to do this is buy the clips, I have a link to a site that carries these. All bulbs work, and there are only 2 spots of rust, one is surface rust, that are low down on the front fascia. All of the panels are straight and undented, the color is Malaga, a factory color. Mechanically, the car is great, with the only issues being a worn second gear synchro and a loose throttle linkage. However, the plastic intake runners have been replaced by the more desirable aluminum ones. The engine runs smoothly, accelerates well, doesn't smoke, has no strange noises, new oil, a kn intake (that could use a filter cleaning), a bosch blue coil, a free flowing exhaust, a freshly rebuilt fuel injector pump (kugelfischer), and a grippy clutch. The steering has no play, the diff is quiet and the whole car is leak-free. The car has a (bigger) 320i radiator and fan, and runs slightly on the cool side. The wheels are aftermarket and have new 205 width sumitomo tires with 90% tread, the suspension is lowered slightly, with good dampeners. The interior is mostly stock, with the only mods being the electric 3 way sunroof and cd playing stereo. The stock seats are in good condition, with the drivers seat needing a reupholstered cushion. It all feels fine but looks bad, so it is currently covered. All gauges work, but the speedometer reads at a lower speed than is actual, due to a worn transmission gear. All glass is new, as are most of the seals, and in the trunk, there is the stock spare wheel, with an older tire that should be replaced, the original jack, and a non-leaking gas tank with a new fuel pump. The rear license plate lights are new, as are the windshield wipers. The car comes with a service history for the past 8 years, Hella driving lights, a few replacement parts, and a restoration guide. The mileage on the odometer is probably wrong, it probably has 152,000, but cannot display it. Also, it is smog exempt. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Thanks for looking, Corbin
