THE OVERVIEW
Offered here for an appreciating new owner is this very rare 1972 BMW 2002tii 4 speed two-door sedan!
Just refinished in the factory correct original "Malaga" color over saddle interior, this highly collectible 99.9% rust-free round-taillight example features the 135 horsepower fuel-injected 2.0 liter inline four cylinder engine mated to a factory 4 speed manual transmission. This car was sold new in California with the original factory owners manual and the two-binder repair manual set. After a lengthy storage stint in Colorado where it was occasionally started and driven in clear weather, this car now resides back in sunny San Carlos, California. As I hope is articulated in the photos, this is a very tidy and quite original example. Overall I would consider this car a SUPER nice driver that you can enjoy exactly as it is while also refining it cosmetically and otherwise. NOTE: Consumer reports Magazine recently named the 2002tii as one of the top 10 most influential automobiles of the last 50 years. ALSO...Automobile Magazine placed it on its list of the 100 coolest cars of all time! COOL STUFF!

THE BODY, PAINT TRIM
The exterior of this car is in excellent 99.9% rust-free condition having just received a fresh and very nice lustrous and shiny [but not quite show-quality] original color "Malaga" [burgundy] paint over a worn, cracked and faded 20 year-old finish. This car has/had great bones with shock towers and floorboards and structural reas near 100% perfect rust-free. The chrome is all quite good and original. This car sports the original chrome hubcaps with fresh decals, nice original grilles and badging.
NOTE: This car still sports the original NON-SNORKEL nose specific to the fuel injected 2002tii.
INSIDE THE CAR
As I hope is articulated in the photos, the interior of this car is in very ORIGINAL unmolested condition. The door panels and headliner are excellent, the dash is cracked and has a prominent gouge in the center area, the carpets are original and worn, the two front seats under the covers are in need of reupholstery on the bottoms. All the gauges and controls including the heater blower motor [except the clock and odometer] work well.
THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This car drives exceptionally well, crisp and tight. The engine runs very well and strong providing excellent and very willing accelleration really conforming why these cars became so popular, the brakes are strong and true with confident pedal feel [this car just received all new rear brake components]. The transmission shifts smooth and crisply, the ride is smooth, rattle-free and quite supple and comfortable. The exhaust is quiet. This car is truly a joy to drive with its responsiveness and open airy cockpit!
