Very likely it is one of the safest as well. It's a solid, heavy car, and will win most impacts, and without a doubt it the best looking, most stylish BMW ever.
Ahead of its time when introduced in 1989, the E31 8 Series is currently enjoying resurgence in global popularity after the last car was produced May 1999. The E31 registry, founded in 1997, is dedicated to those who believe that the BMW 8 Series will become one of the pre-eminent sought-after collector cars from the late 20th century.
The eventual total number of cars built world wide came to 20,072, selling in North America only a total of 4,194 cars over seven years. The 8 Series was designed to move beyond the market of the original 6 Series. The 8 and 6 Series cars had very different character: while the 6 Series was a solid Grand Touring car, the 8 Series was designed as a direct competitor to the upcoming Mercedes SL. It was BMW's flagship car while in production. BMW used CAD tools, still unusual at the time, to design an all-new body. Combined with wind tunnel testing, the results was this ultimate driving machine. This was the fist model launched in 1989 with the 5 liter M70B50 engine producing 300 bhp. Possibly the most advanced car on sale at its launch.
The car is a one female owner nonsmoker never been in an accident and Carfax certified. The body is straight and Rust Free. It has been serviced through BMW dealer. With only 126K miles the car looks and runs beautiful and it is in excellent condition. Those cars can run over 300K miles without engine rebuilt. If you keep in mind the years and the miles you will be more than happy with the car.

Vehicle Condition:
The paint over all as you see in the pictures very nice with very minimal nicks here and there. Mechanically the car is solid, the engine is strong and healthy, and the transmission shifts smooth. The CD changer in the back is missing the top cover, the driver side coin holder is missing. Please expect normal wear and tear on a fifteen years old car with 126K miles. You will be more than happy with this classic BMW collector.
