1991 BMW M5, Brilliant Red, Black leather, 145,000 miles. Daily driver, but never in winter. Body looks super ... very bright shiny. Interior is excellent. Has a Pioneer CD/MP3 deck with aux input - or - can have original BMW radio/cassette installed. Korman chip included, but not currently installed. Engine has just had a bunch of maintenance - O2 sensor, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all new seals throughout intake system (no vacuum leaks), throttles synched, MAF cleaned, fuel filter, air filter, belts. 175 lbs compression in all cylinders. Timing chain nice and quiet, as are the valves (recently adjusted). Always synthetic oil. Interior is nearly perfect. I am a non-smoker and the car has absolutely no smoking odor. The seats are perfect. Just installed all new suspension with Bilstein Sports, control arms, mounts, etc. The photos were taken just prior to the suspension install. The stance is as it should be now, the rear was a bit low before. The coding plug for the instrument cluster is currently from a 90 525i, due to the original coding plug being corrupted and will no longer run the cluster properly. The 90-525i plug shows 192,000-ish miles and the VIN from the 525i, but the actual vehicle mileage is less than 145K (the original plug went out at 135K and that was in Dec-07). The speedo and the tach read just a bit high (with the 525i coding plug) due to the different scale on the M5 gauges (65-mph reads as 75-mph for example) and the oil temp gauge is non-functional, again, since the coding plug is from a 525i. The odometer does count accurate mileage with this coding plug and I have put on 5,000 miles since this plug was installed. The OBC is fully functional and reads accurate speed and mileage. I do still have the original coding plug. The full fix is to have the plug re-coded or a new plug coded for the M5, by a BMW dealer. The A/C does not work. Not sure what the issue is, but the compressor clutch does not kick on. Reserve is $7800. .......... This is a VERY nice M5 for this price. Needs a muffler. It's not loud at all, but it does have leakage at the inlet pipes and would fail a "proper" inspection. I can install a Tri-Flow stainless steel system for $700. Quite frankly, the Tri-Flow would be louder than it is now (the M5 does sound awesome with the Tri-Flow, though). The photos were taken early in the morning, so the lighting was not good and there is dew on the body. However, they should give you an idea of what the vehicle looks like. Note that the trim cover for the ignition wires is not currently installed, but I do have it. I just like the look with it removed. If you'd like specific photos please ask.
