There are a number of E39 M5's on the market. Many are being offered here on Ebay by dealers/brokers who purchase the cars at auction. Buying from a dealer/broker can be a good way to obtain a deal. Most, if not all, dealer/brokers however have no incentive to perform any service work on the vehicle. M5's are expensive to maintain (e.g. spark plugs are $20 each), therefore consider adding $1.5-3K to the broker deal (60K + cars generally need rotors/pads/spark plugs/belts/filters etc.). My car, offered in this auction, was covered by the 6 year/100K mileage BMW extended warranty and serviced accordingly to the factory schedule. The warranty has now expired, however the car was recently inspected and serviced by well known BMW enthusiast tuner/shop Korman Autoworks (www.kormanautoworks.com). New items include, front and rear rotors/pads, spark plugs, filters, ignition control modules, belts, 2 sensors, fluids at a total cost of $2800. Mechanically and cosmetically, the car is in excellent condition. I am the second owner and have owned the car for approximately 4 years. Actual mileage is 69,532. The car is not a daily driver and 90% of the miles are highway miles. Alpine White is a stealth color making the car a very nice Q-Ship. E39's M5's came with a large number of standard features. There were options, however. My car has every option available including: folding rear seats/ski bag (allows a bicycle or other larger item to be loaded); M Audio (enhanced bass/digital signal processing); sunshades; park distance control (very helpful for protecting the wheels from curb rash). Standard features include: sunroof/moonroof; heated seats; GPS navigation; wood trim; fog lights; leather etc. My car has Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position Tires with approximately 10K miles and 69,532 miles since new.
