Positives: This car has had an excellent reliability record- only leaving us asking for assistance once in 5+ years when the alternator went out. The engine and power train still seem very strong and we have no trouble with accelerating and maintaining highway speed. The Park Avenue is at its best on the open road and cruises well. We had the car for over two years in New York City where we got poor gas mileage but no scratches or damage. When salt was used on the road we washed the undercarriage with a pressure washer to keep the rust from attacking. Otherwise the vehicle has spent all but last five years in Oregon State. No rust on body. Paint is original. All leather interior- very clean. New front windshield. New water pump and timing belt. Oil pan and seals are new. Alternator 3 years old. Starter and blower motor 1.5 years old. Tires have approx. 7,000 miles of wear. Passed every emission inspection with no trouble. Oil changed every three months in city (less than 3,000 miles). Some maintenance records available, mostly done by a professional garage. Negatives: Small rusted spot on chrome trim piece. Very light dents on hood and roof from a hailstorm, most people can't even tell. Casette player doesn't work although radio is fine. Crack in upper right plastic fender. Shift indicator (red plastic window that shows gear) is broken. Front struts need replacement (approx $100.00 for parts. Passenger side seat has a "sticky" recline feature. All power controls work it just wont lay the seat completely flat. ABS light will not reset even though several garages have diagnosed the Anti-lock system and stated it is okay and simply a warning lamp problem. Gas Mileage 18 mpg in city traffic, 22+ on highway.
