This is a 1972 Buick Riviera, the classic boat-tail with the 455-4 engine.
95,298 original miles, it's had two owners and it has been garage kept it's whole life. We bought it down in North Carolina about ten years ago and we've enjoyed ten years of reliable trouble-free driving and admiring stares.
It has power steering, power windows, power locks, power seat for the driver. It has air conditioning, but it hasn't blown cold air in the last few years. I think it needs to be recharged.
As they used to say, it's a luxury-performance automobile. Amazingly, the car has three cigarette lighters, one in the front and one hidden in each of the back seat arm rests. No longer will your driving experience by lessened by the annoyance of back seat passengers asking for a light!
There's no rust, but the paint job is showing a few small scratches and signs of wear. Nothing major. The biggest flaw in the paint is probably the small circular spot on the hood where the paint is missing. There's also a small horizontal crack in the trunk, a couple inches long, just to the right of the keyhole, and a little paint chipping of the edge of the drivers door. There's also a few more little scratches here and there. I only point all this stuff out to show the paint jobs not perfect, but it's over all pretty darned good.
The rubber gaskets around the windows are starting to crumble and show their age.
Inside, the upholstery is remarkably clean for 37 year old original off-white upholstery. There's a couple dark marks, but nothing major. You can see it in the pictures. The carpeting is in great shape.
The plastic covering the interior lights in the back seat is broken, but the lights work. There's a couple knobs missing, the "trip set" and "speed alert" knobs. The drivers armrest has a tear in it.
The stereo was been replaced with a sony radio / CD player in the late nineties. At the same time, four new speakers were installed, two in the front behind the dash and two larger ones in the trunk. The sound is great.
What else to say... it runs great! It's always a pleasure to drive, responsive and powerful with a beautiful v8 rumble. If it's cold outside you have to pump the gas a little to get it started, but I never drive it in the winter anyway. It's inspections and oil changes are up to date and the battery is pretty new. Not much else to say. In ten years I haven't had much work done on it, aside from replacing the starter and one of the window motors.
The car is ready to be driven away and enjoyed and admired. It's located in Barryville, NY, very close to the Pennsylvania border.
