Vehicle Description Up for your consideration is a 1956 Buick Roadmaster Riviera 4-door hardtop (no center post, model 73). It has Factory Air Conditioning (and it works), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Seat (4-way), Power Windows (they all work), Power Antenna (it works), and an AM Push-Button Radio. This is a mostly original car. It has had one repaint and it is a good "10 footer". The paint was done before we purchased the car, and whoever painted it did not remove the chrone and stainless before painting. There is some minor rust (staining) in a few places around the trim (see pics). As best as I can tell the car is complete with all chrome and stainless (one exhaust extension is missing). The rear bumper needs to be re-chromed and the bumper front needs to be polished, but they both are straight. The stainless is in excellent condition; it only needs cleaning and polishing. The pot metal is all there and shows minor pitting. The glass is all good except the windshield; it has a verticle crack on the left side and a cloudy spot on the right. The car runs and drives OK. It needs a tune up because I haven't had the time to drive it much since I bought it. The engine starts and runs OK and does not smoke. The last time I drove the Buick the brakes sometimes needed to be "pumped" for it to stop. Probably the master cylinder needs rebuilding from lack of use. The transmission drives OK; it is Dynaflow and does not "shift", but all the ranges work. All guages except the speedometer and temperature work. The odometer works. The radio plays and it's buttons work. The interior, other than the seats is in good condition. The steering wheel plastic rim is badly cracked. The carpets, dash, trim, door panels, kick panels, etc. are all in good condition. The trunk carpet is good, and the original jack is in the car. We believe that the mileage is correct, and that it has not turned over. We got this information from the previous owner, and the car doesn't look or feel like it has over 100,000 miles. However, we have no confirmed documentaion to support our belief. Therefore, the mileage is not guaranteed to be correct. This vehicle is sold "As is, Where is" with no warranty of any kind what so ever except title. We have a clear Louisiana title in hand. The signed title and a notarized Bill of Sale will be provided to the Buyer an no additional cost. All taxes, title and transfer fees are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. All transportation costs are the responsibility of the Buyer. Except that we will deliver the car to the Gretna, La. terminal of Dependable Auto Shippers for no additional charge. I have tried to describe the car honestly, but I may have missed something. The car is available for your inspection. E-mail (mundywr@aol.com) or call Wayne at (504) 362-4815 (8-5 M-F Central time) to schedule your inspection or ask any questions . Please ask any questions before you bid. You are bidding to buy the car, not to inspect it and then decide if you want to buy. The car is for sale. A $500.00 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction end. The balance within 10 days from the end of the auction. We will accept PayPal (for the deposit only), US postal money order, cashier's check, bank transfer, or cash (in person only). On Jun-30-08 at 08:12:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove the Buick yesterday, and the master cylider is worse. I do not want to sell the car in an unsafe condition. We have removed the booster and master cylinder and are sending it out to be rebuilt by Power Brake Exchange in San Jose, Ca. We will install it as soon as it is returned to us. This is included in the auction price. Sorry for the inconvenience.
