Vehicle Description Original, low mileage, 1962 Buick Skylark 2 door Sport Coupe. This car is in very good Unrestored Condition. It has only 33,380 miles on it. It has the highly desireable 215cid Aluminum block V-8 rated at 190HP with the 4 bbl carb. I have owned it since 1987,and bought it from a collector. The original owners drove it from 1962-1972 and logged 24,000 miles. It runs well and can probably be driven anywhere. I say 'probably' because it does have mostly original components (including the FACTORY Heater Hoses), but it's always run well and has been well maintained. I have driven it on 200-400 mile trips at Interstate speeds without a problem. It is a "Little Old Ladies Special". It comes with few options, OK TWO - the AM Radio and two-tone paint!! It has manual brakes, manual steering and no wiper upgrades - yes, 1 speed, no washer. It has the Dual Path (little Dynaflow) automatic transmission. The AM radio is non-working; it blew a transistor a couple years back. I have all the documentation, including the deliery date and date from the original owners and dealer who sold it. It comes with a lot of literature including the Body Manual. It was the Cover Car of the National Buick Club of America Publication in November 2007. I will e-mail the article to anyone upon request, if you contact me and give me your e-mail address. The History of the Car and more details are in the article. The car has been upgraded with modern radial tires, and it has a fairly new exhaust system, but other than that it's as close as it came from the Flint, MI factory as possible. This little Buick was undercoated sometime early in it's life. I've looked at all of the body panels and there is no rust.....nor should there be. It has ALWAYS been garaged, covered in the winter - inside. It was even in heated storage for 7-8 years. Being Original, it has a few dings and scratches on the exterior. It is not perfect. It is simply a great low-mileage car showing minimal wear. The Old Cars Price Guide shows the value of a #3 Car (it's better than that) at $8300. The value of a #2 (it's not as good as that) is $12,900. You could take this car to #2 condition with a new paint job and some minor detailing. My Reserve is hundreds below the #3 value. I'll gladly answer all questions or inquiries outside of the Auction. Car is located in my garage in the West Columbus, Ohio area. Inspection and pick-up must be at my home. I will consider delivery locally. If you wish to make transportation arrangements...I'll gladly do the paperwork to get it on the transport. HAPPY BIDDING.
