Vehicle Description
This is a very rare 1956 Superior Beau Monde model Hearse AmbulanceLimosine style Combo. This 1956 Beau Monde or "high society" limosine style hearse is one of three known remaining 1956 BeauMonde's, according to another owner and my own exhaustive research(one is here in America and there is 1 more in Central America stillin service), so if you consider yourself a collector of rare Hearses,Ambulances, or cars, this is definitely one worth saving. From infogathered in research and another owner, approx. 15 were produced from1954 to 1956 so only a fraction have escaped the crusher or carderbys for the last 50 years. The unique feature is the fold away"b" pillars that give the coach a pillarless hardtop look (Imaginethis car painted and perhaps with tinted glass...). The car has notitle but comes with bill of sale so you can file for a lost titlewith local DMV. It was last registered in 1974 and has the stock 365cid engine, but does not run and has no carb, so assume the motor isstuck, though I saw a good complete running 365 ci Cadillac motor sellhere for around $750 last week. The windshield is broken but this iseasily replaced by ANY 56 Caddy windshield, as it is definitely notcommercial glass. One side piece of flat glass also has a crack init, but since it is flat glass, the same guy who replaces yourwindshield from a junkyard windshield could cut you new flat glass.DASH INTERIOR IS COMPLETE with trim, casket, rollers, handles, knobs(VERY COOL) - front seat upholstery is torn up. As you can see, thebody itself is in surprisingly good shape with straight sheet metaland the rear floor is good to go. It does have some rust in the lowerquarters and rust through in the drivers floor pans but you can buy areplacement floorpan for a 56 Caddy on Ebay right now for about $70.It is missing the hood ornament, but of course, you can also find atleast 2 of those a month listed right here on ebay for a good price. The car is currently located in WALTERBORO,SC.
A bit of background info about the car:
There are 2 plaques in it.which read "Sydney A Jones" It had beenstored in a warehouse at a Salvage Yard in South Carolina. It waslast in Service at the Sydney A Jones funeral home in Savannah GA (nowunder new ownership after Mr Jones passed away).
This is being offered here for an almost comically low reserve forsuch a rare car, so if you don't have much money, you will probablywin it anyway.
I will accept bids from overseas bidders, but you arrange forshipping. Not interested in trades or anything like that so pleasedont ask.
Also, seriously...why bid if you can't pay for it? Ask yourselfthat. Also ask your wife / husband/ girlfriend / mother, etc. beforeyou bid. All you will do is waste my money, earn negative feedback, and mess up another persons chance on getting a rare hearse to fix upbefore Halloween..and you will still not have this car.
CAR IS SOLD "AS IS". SELLER REQUIRES $500 DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS/BALANCE WITHIN 7 DAYS. SHIPPING OR PICKUP IS BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY -CAR IS LOCATED IN WALTERBORO, SC.
