Vehicle Description
1989 Cadillac Brougham
I am selling this car for my father because he is far from literate with computers. The car has been owned by him since 1993 and has been well taken care of as you can see from the pictures. Everything on the car is stock there have been no modifications of any kind to it from how it came from Cadillac. This car has never been in any wreck and has the original vinyl top, paint, chrome etc still on it. The Michelin tires on it have less than 10 thousand miles on them so they will be good for quite some time. Everything seems to function on the car but it has been in storage for a few years. Every car has a story so here is the story with this one. My dad bought the car when he managed a bank in the early nineties. My mother never drove it because she didn't like how big the car was. Long story short they had other cars and parked this one but my dad being the pack rat (so to speak) that he was never got around to selling it. We stored it for several years keeping stabil in the gas and cranking it and driving it up and down the driveway every few months. My dad is retired now and cleaning out the garage so this one has to go. I inspected the car pretty well and here is what I can tell you. I will describe everything to the best of my knowlege.
Exterior: The paint and vinyl top are original. The paint is a little faded but may buff out some. The vinyl top is in great condition with no rips or tears. The chrome is in pretty good condition (7 out of 10) but could use a good buff. The major thing on the exterior is the little rubber filler panels have dry rotted some what and are cracked up around the bumpers which is very common on these cars. This car has been in NC for its whole life and garaged so there is no rust anywhere that I can find.
Interior: The interior honestly looks new with the exception of the headliner coming down. All of the interior lights work and the leather has been well taken care of on the seats. The power seat works properly and the carpet looks new. It has always had an extra set of floor mats in the floor and the car has never been smoked in or eaten in for that matter. If you fixed the headliner the interior would be a 9 out of 10.
Mechanical: The car runs good. The car has 105K actual miles. We had a chevrolet dealership put a new transmission in it a few thousand miles ago because it went out so it is almost new. It shifts great and everything runs strong for a 5.0L V8. It is no hot rod but this thing will cruise nicely.
Here are the only negatives I can find mechanically. The AC works and the compressor kicks on and off but it doesn't get quite ice cold so it may need a little refrigerant. The starter is a little weak sometimes it doesn't engage and turn the engine over. I put a brand new battery in it this week but I think the starter just needs to be replaced which is only a $50 fix. These are really the only things I can find wrong with it. The car has always been serviced every 3k miles and has been a good car. The car cranks right up (when the starter engages) every time.
I tried to describe everything but if you have questions please ask. I am starting the auction out for $500 no reserve which is cheaper than you could buy a parts car for. This is a nice car. You won't be disappointed. Bid to win! Buyer is responsible for any inspection of car prior to buying. You are welcome to come look at it in person. Location Hickory NC. Buyer is also responsible for shipping or delivery of car. If buyer sets everything up I will be happy to assist in any way.
