You are bidding on a 1972 Cadillac Superior Hearse.
This car is in really good shape for the age and only has 63,950 miles on it. I purchased it in 2002
on an eBay auction from Staten Island New York and drove it home and you can too. Car runs great but
does have some issues. I haven’t looked at the pictures yet that I am posting so I am not sure if you will
be able to see the following. The car was repainted prior to my purchasing it and the repair to the lower
front fenders by the rocker panels are lifting. There are several spots that are starting to blister but it is not butt
ugly and is fixable. The rear bumper has 2 small rusted through spots and the front bumper has some
surface rust starting. The glove box flops open occasionally, the latch needs adjusting, and the passenger window
is stiff to roll up and down. The temperature unit does not work and someone hooked up 2 toggle switches
to turn the defroster and blower motor on. I have to unhook a vacuum hose at the heat riser valve to turn the
heat on and hook it up to turn it off, (or vise versia). The leather seats are in good shape with some cracking on the drivers
side. All the glass is in good shape and has glass sliding windows between the cab and the back. All chrome is
intact. There is an alarm system installed on the car and it also has a 10 disk cd player am/fm with removable
face plate. The head liner is in good shape with out any tears in both the front and back of the car, the vinyl top
is in good shape as are the chrome bars on the side. There are 4 small wear spots on the vinyl on the rear door
wear it rubs on 4 screws when the door is closed. A/C worked 6 years ago when I purchased the car but could of
used a recharging and I was told the system would have to be upgraded to the new type of Freon. I have had a
new alternator installed, front disk pads and 1 rotor and caliper. When I first got the car and had my mechanic
look it over it had a leaky left rear axle seal and he replace that but he did say the someone had buggered the
axle housing up some but the seal has not leaked again. The car had 58,000 miles and change on it when I got
it so it’s 5000 miles without leaking. I used the car as advertising for my business, I had it all lettered up, if I
have a picture I will include it in the gallery. All the vinyl has been removed and the graphic on the front is
painted so the front would have to be repainted to remove it.
Over all the car is in really good shape and would be a great restoration project, I need the space and
really do not have the proper storage for it as my garage is not heated and when the tempter goes from really
cold to warm everything sweats and there is surface rust starting in the engine compartment and under carriage.
Starting bid is as low as I will go and I reserve the right to cancel the auction as I am advertising the car locally
with an asking price of $4000.00. Pick-up is the responsibility of the winning bidder, I have no interest in arranging
delivery, car is sold as is where is, I think I covered all the issues but if I think of anything I will add it.
Engine is a 472 V-8 and runs fine, auto trans with no issues, shifts smooth, tires have great tread exhaust system
Intact without leaks, e-mail any questions and I will answer as quickly as possible, no internet at house so only check
auction Monday – Friday days or 207-474-8347. Car is in Mercer Maine, about 2 hours from New Hampshire/Maine border. 50% deposite due at close of auction balance and pick-up with-in
2 weeks.
