Up for sale is a 1970 Chevrolet Townsman Wagon, but I have to get parts for a Bel Air, Impala, or Biscayne Wagon. The car is primered but is not ready for paint. I bought the car off ebay and the other seller was not 100% honest with me. I was told the car was ready to paint and had been lowered 5 inches. The car could still use some body work before paint, and the shocks and springs are shot which gives the appearance of a 5 inch lowering kit. The car has shocks and springs all the way around and they will all need to be replaced. I was planning on putting in an Air Ride Suspension from Air Ride Technologies, but finances and time did not allow for that. The car has a strong 350 cubic inch small block V8, with a TH350 automatic transmission. Car runs good, and up until May the car was my daily driver. The car is mostly original, and even has the original 2 barrell carburetor. The carb does give me some problems every now and again (because it is almost 40 years old) but I keep a screwdriver handy to adjust the idle, Like I said it was my daily driver. This car needs some work because it is almost 40 years old but it is a car you could drive while you fix it up. The only two things that do not work on the car is the speedometer and the horn. The car is a six passenger station wagon with dual exhaust that exits behind the rear wheels. The car sounds awesome! I get looks wherever I go because it is loud and low. Speaking of how low it is; watch out for train tracks, potholes, and sppedbumps. There is about 2 inches of clearance at the front k-frame (which is the lowest point on the car). With the suspension in the condition that it is in the car does not handle very well with three or more passengers in it. The car has drum brakes all around and I replaced everything in the rear brakes in April. The car still pulls to the right a little under heavy braking. The interior is in ok shape. There are cracks in the dash that have been fixed with some type of filler and the tears in the seat have been repaired with the same type of filler. The filler works but looks ugly. Also, there is no headliner past the rear seats. There are a couple small dents in the front bumper, the hood is not quite aligned, some of the doors "stick" when trying to open so they could use shims, there is a bondo crack on the rear roof, there is a little rust on the rear tailgate (which opens like a truck or a station wagon), and there is some major rust in only one area of the car under the rear wheel well: I tried to show all of these in the pictures. The car has a new battery, new spark plugs, new wires, new air filter, new brakes, and new front tires. I had big plans for this car but I have recently gotten married and my wife and I decided it would be best for our finances to only have one car. With gas prices, the economy, and being a newlywed it only made sense for me to sell this car. It is hard for me to sell the car but there will be another car another day. Speaking of gas prices the car gets about 15 miles per gallon.
