1970 Chevy Pickup Truck. This Girl has been the baby of the family for the last 4 years. Recent show winner in the 1970-72 Truck class, against Trucks, El Camino's and the like. THIS IS NOT A RAT ROD. This is well done, clean and custom. SAFE and VERY fun to drive. Engine Four bolt main block, fully machined with an Eagle crank/rod/piston kit and a .030 overbore, giving 385ci. Compression on the forged pistons is set at 9.8 to one. Heads are Patriot aluminum with big 2.10 intake valves, 1.74 exhaust valves and double springs, rated for .700 lift. Stainless full roller rockers finish it off. A retrofit (roller) Hyd Crane cam opens the valves, and a set of full length Hooker ceramic coated headers gets rid of the dead dinosaur gas. Single plane high-rise intake and either a Edelbrock carb (16mpg) or Holly 850 Vac sec. (10mpg) does the fule and air mixin'. Polished aluminum valve covers, aluminum water pump, hig volume/pressure oil pump, new fuel pump, 8 qt Milodon oil pan, Billet HEI Distributor. To the point, I spent way to much money and went a bit crazy, but the cam pulls enough vaccum to make it idle and the power brakes work great. Newly done radiator, with electric fan. Idlying for hours on cruise night is no problem, it never has seen the high side of 210. Satin aluminum pulleys, KN's best filter, and 8.5mm wires top it all off. The Desktop Dyno software says 435 rwhp, but I have never had it on the dyno. Its very strong and revs like crazy. The engine is built to take a lot more cam, and could easily. Drivetrain Transmission is a 700R4 that has been fullt built, valve body, corvette servo's, the whole deal. Shifts hard, locks up, and cruises for days. Custom driveshaft by Coast driveline, and a fully built rear end with 4.11 gears and a VERY tight posi. New bearings, axles, brakes, etc. Chassis She sits on four corner airbags, with a small tank between the frame rails and a Viaire chrome compressor in the back, New shocks all the way around. switches and dual needle gauge in cab, out of the way. Optima yellow top to light it off. Wheel Vintques Rally's sit on all corners, the big front brakes are fitted (11.75 inch rotors) and are cleared by 16 inch wheels. 16x7 in the front running 205x65x16 and the rear are 295/50/16 BFG's on both ends, and no, there is nothign you can do, short of fitting slicks to make this thing hook up. Interior Late model truck seat and should belts, fresh black carpet, Dash pad is new, as is windshield. Dash itself has a Auto meter gauges in the stock locations, and a big tach sorta hidnig behind the steering wheel. The glove box door is chrome, and the windows are blacked out, with a full on limo tint to the sides and wing windows. Under the carpet is three layers of sound deadener, and yes, the tank is still behind the seat - No school like the old school! The cab pockets are foam filled, to prevent any corrosion and further reduce cab noise. The tank has also been coated and sealed externally. Grant GT steering wheel tops the column. Wipers, headlights, signals, hazards, heater, etc works great. Truck is an A/C truck, and it worked great when I built the engine. I now have a sanden 508 compressor, and Becool condensor, along with the bracket to mount the Sanden unit to the stock bracket. No time to install it, but a few simple hours work, and you have an ice cold cab. If I didnt live in paradise, I would have done it already myself! Custom made door panels, new cranks, and decent 6x9's do the doors up nicely. The dash was cut when I got the truck, so I threw in a Sony head unit, with XM, and all the trimmings. Sounds pretty decent for $600 in sounds. Body Primer black, of course. All marker lights are filled, body is VERY straight. You could easily scuff and shoot this truck a color, but the interior is also painted black. I liked the color, and ran with it. Front windshield had some pitting, so I replaced it. I drive this truck every weekend. The only thing I wish I had time to replace is window felts. pass side is missing, drivers side has some wind noise. Every friday night, going to cruise night, she starts right up, flick on the fan, set the bag pressure, and let her rumble. I have to go do another project, just what I do... I build custom motorcycles for a living, many for Robb Report Magazine, and I have put the same level of work into my truck as I do our bikes. Please email me directly with any questions. info@retrosbk.com Relisted now, got close, but not quite... Ive lowered the reserve to only $14,900. I have over 35k invested in this truck, drove it about 80 miles on sunday, took second at a fathers day show... Reserve and buy it now are the same, bid to WIN! Will
