I'm selling this truck for my 40 yr old son who has been disabled by a work related accident and can no longer drive it. He bought it about 3 years ago and here's what he told me about the truck. The 350 V-8 engine was rebuilt for the previous middle-aged owner as a 383 Stroker at the cost of about $2000. It had about 110,000 miles on it at that time and my son acquired it at about 140,000 miles. The engine has high compression pistons, a high performance cam, a 400 crankshaft, a high volume oil pump, and was balanced blue printed. The 350 turbo auto trans has a stage 2 shift kit installed also. It also has headers, dual Flowmaster mufflers and tailpipes that are angled out at the rear. A 4 barrel Quadra-Jet carburtor is mounted on a Weiand aluminum manifold topped with a chromed Eldebrock air cleaner and KN filter. The valve covers are also chrome plated. The speedometer now shows 54517 so it is 154517 now. Within the last 1000 miles my son had the brakes re-done with turned rotors and new disc pads on the front and brakes shoes and turned drums in the rear. The entire brake system was flushed with new brake fluid. He also had it tuned with new spark plugs, plug wires, a cap and a new starter motor. The ignition system is HEI and therefore has no points. The tires are 950R16.5LT all purpose radials and are mounted on 8 lug heavy duty rims which were available on most 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Yesterday, I just installed an NOS set of hubcaps that were purchased from a fellow eBayer that acquired them from an old Chevy dealership in Maine. WOW! what a find and they were still in the GM boxes(see photos).Options include power brakes, power steering, air conditioning and an aftermarket Kenwoosd AM/FM cassette player with Poineer speakers in each door. The A/C will need a charge as the compressor turns freely but doesn't blow Cold. I tried to sell the truck as I received it from my son on eBay about 6 weeks ago and the 'before' photo is the last photo on this listing. By the way, I still have the large side view mirrors and if you need them for towing they're yours! During the last 6 weeks, here's what I've done: All necessary bodyworked was completed and the entire truck was repainted in Sunset Metallic Orange. This color is very close to the original Bronze shade that Chevy used in the 60's and 70's. The windshield and a new rubber seal were installed The entire interior was re-done including the seat in a fabric/vinyl that matches the color scheme of the truck, new black door panels, black sunvisors, black dash pad and a black rubber floor mat in the original pattern. The sill plates were cleaned and polished. The original Build sheet from Fremont, CA is still in the seat spring back section All new trim including the lower body side mouldings, tail light bezels, tail gate trim, Custom 20 emblems and 350-8 emblems The tail light, back-up and sidemarker lenses were all replaced The White CHEVROLET letters on the tailgate are also new Other NEW/NOS items are both side view mirrors, rear view interior mirror, chrome a/c bezels, chrome interior courtesy light, a pair of chromed 1972 Chevrolet license plate frames and even a new gas tank neck rubber seal The pickup bed was cleaned, sanded and re-painted with a special textured bedliner paint in Black The Silver step bumper was installed and repainted and a new lic plate light has been ordered and will be installed Included with the sale will be a new dash guage bezel, door to cab weatherstripping, and a chrome dipstick holder. All these items are on back order and should be delivered by this Friday, 8/22. I have a 1972 Chevy truck Shop manual, parts catalog and a clear CA title. The license is good until February 28, 2009 and the truck is SMOG exempt! I drove it home the other day from the upholstery shop and it runs gret, shifts smooth and stops on a dime! If I didn't already have a 1959 Chevy Apache in my garage, I'd buy it! Local pickup or door to door shipping only. Try uship.com for a detailed quote using my 92253 zipcode.
