Vehicle Description Up for sale here is a most unusual vehicle.p My Dad is 88 years-old. Back in 1980 he thought he really needed a truck for his business. So he decided to buy this one. The previous owner performed regular maintenance right up until it was sold.p In the past 28 years, my dad has probably put less than 500 miles on this vehicle. It is as close to a "Barn Find" vehicle as you would ever hope to encounter. p It is rare to find a forty year old vehicle with only 133,862 miles on it. p My dad had a strange way of using vehicles. As soon as a vehicle gave him any difficulties whatsoever, he just parked it. This Truck was driven to it's current location and was parked in place. My dad has lost the key for the Truck. This makes it difficult for me to evaluate it. I know the lift gate if fine, but I cannot turn over the engine without the key.p This is a One Ton truck with good solid stake bed frame. The wood on the floor of the bed is in very poor condition and should be replaced. It has all the gates - even the two for the rear - which are not seen in the photos. All the gates are marginal, could use some new wood and or tightening up of the hardware.p It has Rear Duals as is normal for most heavy duty trucks.p There is no body rot, as we are in Southern California. Weathering has begun to make the paint on the roof turn to rust, but it can absolutely be saved.p One of the best parts of this truck is the lift-gate (lift gate), (liftgate). It is made by Maxon and is rated at full truck capacity (according to my dad). If a person just needs a lift-gate this one should be worth at least $500 all by itself. In the pictures, you will see that it is down a bit from the lock position. The reservoir is a bit low on hydraulic fluid. Goes up and down just fine under battery power, but the fluid is a bit low.p As my dad recalls, this is a V-8 312CID engine (please see the note at the bottom of the page that came in from a potential buyer regarding the probable engine displacement). I am not sure about that. We do not have the book, and the info is not on the Pink Slip.p The weight as listed on the Pink Slip is 5960 Unladenp It has a 4-Speed Manual transmission. (Four on the Floor). p The battery that is about a year old and still seems to be holding a charge. The Fuel Pump was put in about five or six years ago.p My Photos show the condition quite well, but here are a few more comments: p The Passenger window is missing!!!p The front windshield is crackedp Interior has some weathering. The bench seat needs replacement or repair. p Running lights, stop lights, headlights all need repair and work.p The rubber mats are gone, so the floor of the cab looks pretty yucky.p The exterior needs paint. When closed, the driver's door has a gap at the hinge end (bent door or something).p Lots of dents and rust. p The engine and transmission are basically un tampered with. Dusty, yes, but not fiddled with.p I do not have the key for this vehicle. Much of the running gear (lights and such) need some work prior to trying to drive it away. It is parked in a yard with no water, no electricity, and no trash service. If you want to come and repair it to drive it away, you are welcome to do so. We are in the city of Pomona, California. There are many parts stores and junkyards nearby, but we certainly would recommend that you put it on a trailer and take it to your area to work on it.p I do not have keys for this vehicle - you will have to deal with this issue. p If you want it for parts, you will find good parts, if you want to use it, here is some really good news. California DMV rules state that vehicles built before 1975 do not need to have smog checks - so here is a good little work truck that will never need to go throught the hassles of going through smog checks every two years.p We have the Pink Slip.p The Vehicle is currently on waiver.p We will want to do the "right thing" by transferring officially at the DMV.p Here are some comments that a eBay potential buyer sent to me regarding the key and engine. Dear coin-slave, This truck probably has either a 283 or 327 engine (312 was ford). To get a key, remove one of the door locks you will PROBABLY find a 4 digit number on it somewhere. Take the lock to any locksmith for a key. That vintage vehicle used the same key for doors and ignition. Thanks for your help!! Again - thanks for looking!!
