I just bought a new car, so my Camaro has got to be moved out ASAP :( All original. I bought this car in the spring and have been spec'ing it up for this summer specifically, but it’s not going to happen. I bought it because it’s an awesome platform. It had been parked since 93', I am the second owner, and I don't think it was ever driven in snow or salt as there is no bad rust under the car or the usual places, its not show car underneath (surface rust on some items like the rear end, road crud). It was running (poorly) when I bought it but needed a minor spec up. 64,000 original miles, 305ci V8, 4bbl carb, Automatic Trans. Original paint and equipment, not perfect car, but straight and solid. Few dings, and bumps, here and there, but nothing major - one fender has a dent in it that will need to be popped out slightly before paint but its not bad.. Here were the items I did to get to the point its at (it was inspected last month, I drive it all weekend and it has always parked in my garage): Replaced: Radiator, thermostat, all hoses (runs cool, to factory spec or better), almost all hoses except some of the vaccum hoses, all belts, all filters, oil, carburetor (stock Rochester 4bbl), rear brakes, valve cover gaskets. Everything is setup to factory specs and it runs great. Some desriable extras that will come with the car!!!: 9 bolt Posi borg warner factory rear with 308 gearing complete (you will need a truck or something to take this away), extra t-top, 91 only factory front fairing (try finding one in good condition, do a search on ebay), 91 only factory hood scoops (also hard to find). 5.0 sticker for air cleaner. The REAL thick genuine GM shop manual for the 86 Camaro, and the Haynes manual, and the original dealer book. + any of the original stuff that was in the car and anything else I have accumulated for the car. Clearly, I wanted the car to have a sweet factory look. I was planning to put black corvette z06 rims on the car and lower it. It’s a fun ride. I wish I could finish it, but it’s got to go down the road. Really solid platform. I started taking the interior out last weekend to replace the headliner, so some panels are out, but everying is very organized and could be put in place in about an hour. The interior needs to be spiffed up in my opinion but you could get by the way it is, the dash pad has the classic sun crack, the carpet is worn, etc. If I was doing the car I would paint the body first before tackling the interior. Every piece of the interior is in my posession, but you will need a new headliner. Sold as is and where is, no returns. Remember, this car is more than 20 years old, its not perfect! It really should go to a person who is going to put the time in to maintain the car and have fun with it. These are great cars, parts are cheap, there are a ton of them in junk yards to pull parts from. I would prefer to take cash, or a postal money order for this transaction, but I will take paypal. I will be out of town starting June 30th, so timing will be key for pickup. Please be prepared to pick the car up after the auction closes, or it will have to be the week July 7th. Remeber, this aution is a contract. I am out the listing fees if the buyer backs out, so serious bidders only. On Jul-02-08 at 04:25:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Thought of some other things I replaced: I replaced the O2 sensor. Replaced the Distributor cap, rotor, all plugs, and plug wires. When I got the car, it was running, but it was not running 100% which was why I went through this effort. The car is not perfect, but it is running and goes down the road well. Remember, this is a 22 year old car, please don't expect a show car by any stretch. It runs best when the engine is allowed to warm up a bit before driving, from a cold start you prime it by pumping the gas three times (this is a carbureted car). Only other thing I can think to add as a notation. The check engine light popped on one time for about 5 minutes when I was about 20 miles into a highway drive, but then shut back off. This was prior to me replacing the o2 sensor which needed to be replaced. I haven't seen the light since. This car was not my daily driver. It was just for fun and scooting around town. I amn relisting this car yet again because there has been some interest from some folks in seeing the car in person. Since I am out of town I think that it is a fair request, and I want to make sure I am available to show the car and complete the auction in person when it ends. I started putting the interior pieces back in the car, you will just need to button everything up. Thanks! On Jul-06-08 at 18:21:31 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT contact me with any kind of dumb low ball question like "I'll give you $800 for the car, the paint is messed up, and it looks like it needs work." If feel compelled to ask such a question, you are probably ill equiped to own this car at a minimum. Don't buy this car thinking you are not going to work on it, or paint it. If you are looking for a turn key daily driver, head down to the Hundai dealership, you've come to the wrong place. Do not contact me with any offers, I am not interested.
