Vehicle Description 1971 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SB400 T400 Auto NR! Greetings. Up for auction is a 1971 Chevy Chevelle Malibu 2 Door, with a Small Block 400 and Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission. 4-Bolt Main. Stock Rearend. Motor and Transmission were from a 71 Caprice and installed 20+ years ago. No Reserve. Same owner 20+ years. Last on the road in 2005 and has been started periodically since. This car runs good, but could use a tune up. The gas tank has old gas in it, though the metal looks to be in very good shape. Transmission and brakes work. Brand-new exhaust. This motor is something of a monster - notice the chain - my friend kept breaking motor mounts because it has so much torque. With some freshening up that motor could easily be "all that" again. The downside to this otherwise-drivable car is the body – most of the fender, rockers and quarter panel lowers need attention. Floor is not bad. Minor rust in trunk area as well. There are 2 spots on the frame that need attention as well. Interior is rough. I am going to lean toward being conservative and say this is a serviceable basket case, or a great parts car. There are also other Chevelle parts (2 hoods, doors, grille, radiator support maybe some other stuff) that go with the vehicle. This would also be an excellent candidate for building an SS clone, which is fun to drive and look at, without the cost of the real thing. This is a popular hot rodding trend because of its economical benefits: You get the look without the price. The Clone market also has its own strong value, not as high as the real ones, but better than average. People are willing to buy a look-alike as long as it is marketed honestly. NY State offers a Transferable Registration Receipt for title for 1972 Vehicles and earlier, which will be provided along with a bill of sale from the current owner. I am selling this item for a friend of mine who is a neighbor. If you have any questions, please email me. If you wish to speak to the owner I will send you his phone number and he will be happy to answer any questions. Terms: Unless otherwise pre-arranged before auction end, winning bidder must send a $500 deposit within 7 days of auction close (or Paypal within 48 hours). Full payment within 15 days. Removal within 30 days of auction completion unless otherwise arranged. Vehicle will be transferred after verification of the authenticity of winning bidder’s funds, however long that takes. Deposits and Payments will need to be in Cash (US), US Postal Money Order or Paypal. I encourage a personal or third party inspection of the vehicle BEFORE BIDDING, because it is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied. I can help with transportation arrangements but the winning bidder is solely responsible for shipping costs. Non-US/Canada, and all negative or no feedback bidders must contact me before bidding. Winning the auction is a contract to buy, not the right to first refusal: you will be held accountable for your obligation, so please ask questions and arrange your inspection BEFORE YOU BID!
