Vehicle Description
NO RESERVE
You are viewing a 1961 Corvair 500 two door coupe with 41,638 miles. It has an 80HP engine with an automatic transmission.
The body is very solid and from what I can tell she has had one repaint of the original color.
Since owning her, I've replaced the carbs and added #55 jets, distributor with electronic ignition, wires, plugs, air filters, gas sender, fuel pump and rod. Have installed additional inline filter, new exhaust, push rod tubes and "O" rings. And replaced six lifters, oil pan gasket. The brakes were done; I have included new steel lines, wheel cylinders, hoses and brake shoes. She rides on new michelin radials.
I've dropped the trans pan and replaced filter along with gasket and of couse refilled with new fluid. Also, I've drained the 327 differential and replaced yoke seals and added new gear fluid.
The interior is all original and in very good to excellent condition. She has bench seats and stock rubber flooring with the original jut for noise dampening. Head liner, package area, door panels and kick panels are all original and are in very good to excellent condition.
All chrome pieces are bright and look new. All glass is perfect as are the seals so no water leaks.
All in all She is a fine little Corvair that runs, drives and handles very well. With a 80HP She's slow off the get go but will cruise all day with ease.
