1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop - Restoration Spring of 2008. This car was purchased new by a lady from Phoenix, AZ. She owned the car until 2002. It was then sold to an elderly gentleman from Dawson, NE. He owned the car until I purchased it in 2008. The car was a rust free Arizona car. The car was professionally block sanded, primered and painted in base coat / clear coat in the original Ermine White (Lifetime Warranty) with Twilight Turquoise stripe. The dash was completely sanded and re-painted in the original teal color. Then a complete new interior was installed. The original floors were undercoated and all of the old undercoating was removed to find a virgin floor. We then re-undercoated the floor in a rubberized undercoat. New jute carpet padding was installed. New carpet was installed along with logo carpet floor mats. New original pattern seat covers were installed along with new foam. New interior door and quarter panels were installed. Window felts were installed. New kick panels and freshly painted vent grilles were installed. The fresh air vent cables were cleaned and lubed. At this point all electrical harnesses were replaced with new harnesses. Burned out light bulbs were replaced. A new turn signal system was installed. New horn wiring and horns. The drive train was removed from the car. A new crate engine was installed, 355 c.i. @ 450HP, a new clutch system was installed, re-built Muncie M-21 4 speed installed, factory shifter installed. New tires installed, 15" rims installed and painted with granny hubcaps. The hood letters were removed along with the front fender gunsights and rear V8 emblem. The car was done up to look like a 409 clone. A new 2-1/4" aluminized exhaust system was installed with VForce mufflers. The car has an awesome sound. This car is lazer straight, no rust, no accidents, new California bumpers were installed along with all new side chrome on the car. The car is equipped with a Texas heater, single speed wipers, manual steering and manual stock brakes. I have copies of the original title from Arizona and also a copy of the Nebaska title. Mileage is shown on these titles and they are clear titles. The underside of the car is clean, has factory undercoating, Arizona dust and is very nice and clean considering the age of this car. No rust in frame anywhere. The trunk has the original factory spackle paint, no rust and new trunk mats. The jack has been restored. No spare is included. The only things needed are the radio and clock are not hooked up. Fuel gauge is sparatic. Needs new headlight switch because the dash lights do not work. This car is a real sleeper if it were not for the exhaust note. The reserve on this car is $25,000.00. I have receipts and invoices for over $35,000.00 spent of this car. You would not be able to duplicate this car for this price. One needs to really look at this car to appreciate the quality of the car. I won the Top Award of the Top Twenty just two weeks ago at a local car show. If the reserve price is met I will throw in all of the extra parts I have, a full set of new radial tires and a set of American Racing Torque Thrust Rims compete with center caps and chrome lug nuts. I also will throw in an Assembly Manual, Service Manual and a car cover. I will also throw in a full set of full hubcaps and a set of fender skirts. Good Luck Bidding ! If you have questions please email me, I will answer them each evening.
