here is a 61 impala/bel air up for auction. it has a rebuilt 6 cyl engine and runs well, no leaks and no smoke. it has a new radiator. it also has a rebuilt 2 speed powerglide transmission. goes into gear imediately and feels very tight. also has new brakes, with a very firm pedal, right at the top. and the front suspension all feels tight and some looks to have been replaced it drives pretty well. it hesitates a little, but i have not left the neigborhood with it since there are no plates on it. the floors have been patched and a rubber sound deadener has been installed. it has a new gas tank too. under the gas tank is cut out you will have to patch that. it was owned by a mechanic at a local shop. he does not have the time or the ambition anymore to finish this car. work occupies most of his time since he is the owner of his shop. he needs the room and rather than let it sit and rot....here it is. although he bought it to restore all work was performed before he bought it. it has a good battery and starts right up. so it will be easy to load... you could probably drive it home. i did. it has a trunk full of extra chrome. there is enough to finish this car...see chrome taped in place. plus the chrome and trim that is on blanket with grill.probably 1/2 to 3/4 enough for another car. the trim taped in place around windows is all that has not been installed. there are extra tailights that are like new, no cracks or anything. and all interior trim is there to the best of my knowledge. i have picked up a nice set of door handles for it...see pics. and will be getting an extra set of bumpers and a extra window, i dont know if it is a windshield or a rear window yet. but it all goes with it. when i get it you will know. there are a lot of parts here. if that is what you want. the car has been painted before, although it is rusty and there are bubbles. the rockers are solid and so are the door jams and the bottoms of the doors. all rust seems to be in cosmetic areas. like the outer door skin or the front fenders by the headlight..... yea you know the spot they all did it there, right around the headlight and above the wheel on the top. i would say 2 fenders, front and rear valances(they are missing) 2 patch panel each rear 1/4, and a patch on 2 doors, carpet 119.00(ebay), a headliner 79.00(ebay) recover door panels, and paint. you got a nice car. it also has a set of 4 rally wheels hiding under those hubcaps....see pics. but i am selling this car for parts. you do what you want with it. remember it is NO RESERVE and NOT FOR SALE LOCALLY!!! if you win it is yours. you will NOT hear, oh i sold it didnt you read my auction.... i had someone do that to me....not cool. just like i told my neighbor, you will have to bid. sorry. i prefer a 500.00 deposit (non refundable) in 3 days. you can pay cash at pickup, or use paypal for entire transaction. i am ok with both. please no checks or money orders... not to say you are dishonest, but some have ruined it for the rest of us. if you need help with shipping i can post it for you, it will be a c.o.d. delivery you are usually close to 80 or 90 cents per mile. sometimes it is less. good luck and happy bidding.
