A few too many projects. My father and I are selling several vehicles from our 55-59 GM truck collection. Please email with questions. All vehicles are located 50 miles from my home. I will answer questions to the best of my ability from memory, but may not have access to the vehicle before auction end.
1957 Chevrolet 3100 Series Shortbed Stepside Sought after 57 Chevy Shortbed Stepside restoration or custom truck candidate Later model six cylinder – condition unknown No title on this truck - buyer must get truck titled Photos accurately depict the overall condition of the truck. I took specific photos of problem areas. Mileage indicated in auction is shown on odometer, exact mileage of a vehicle of this age and nature is unknown.
Highlights Good front fenders, grille, front bumper Dash uncut Rear fenders in good condition, some rust in lower front areas Good uncut firewall Tailgate in fair condition Factory undermount spare tire bracket present Optional stepside rear bumper and brackets No rust-out in upper part of cab at driprail or above windshield Relatively solid, inexpensive 57 shortbed project truck
Lowlights Needs lower door pockets Windshield, door window cracked Doors have rust, might want to replace Hood has some rust, drilled for hold-down pins Floorboards have deep surface rust – useable as-is, but may want to patch instead Doorsteps have rust blisters in common spots – should probably be patched Cab corners have small rust holes Rust hole in lower part of dash, passenger side – maybe from windshield leaking
