This auction is for a 1989 Chevrolet R3500 1-ton truck with nine (9) foot long aluminum flatbed. I've owned the truck 4-5 years and have put quite a bit into it. A former Southern Bell truck with utility bed mounted and 80,000 miles, bought for $2,200. I sold the bed for $200, new wheels and 8-ply Bridgestone radials $760, removed all glass, trim, interior, etc. before paint (3 years ago) $750, new windshield, rear sliding glass, all door and window seals, dash pad and trim, floor mat and padding $850. I then bought and mounted a steel flatbed. Last year I installed a new GM 350 Crate Engine (from Everette Chevrolet Hickory, NC) $1,900, at 86,000 miles. Engine has 2 years remaining of 3 year Unlimited mileage warranty, only about 4,000 miles since installation. I've also installed new plugs, wires, reman distributor $225, new radiator, heater core, all belts and hoses, water pump, alternator, starter, $400. Last winter, I traded a jeep for a 2004 f350 former "Home Depot" truck then traded the beds on the two trucks. The aluminum "Home Depot" bed is now mounted on the Chevy and looks and rides great. I will miss it, though I really just don't need it. There has been much more done to this truck since I've owned and while meant as a work truck, not a show truck it is in very nice condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Clean, straight, reliable. Completely serviced. Dry, no leaks. Does not have air conditioning, am/fm stereo. Power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission(3spd, turbo 400). Transmission fluid, filter and front seal replaced with new engine. New motor mounts and trunion bearing. New master cylinder, brake lines and hoses. There is probably something that I've left out but, there isn't much of, if anything, left to do. Truck is ready to drive and work. Dual saddle tanks, new selector switch on dash. Aluminum bed is a Scott Body by TAFCO of Blue Earth, MN. Both sides and tailgate fold down for easy access and can also be easily removed. Bed is solidly mounted on treated wood with 5/8" rod and U-bolts. Truck has a 9,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating. Available for inspection at any time throughout the auction in Catawba, NC. Current NC vehicle inspection. $500 deposit due within 7 days of end of auction. Balance due in cash or CLEAR funds and title to be legally transferred at or before delivery. Clear NC title in hand. Also included are owner's manuals, 3500 emblems removed before truck was painted, decals that came with new engine and many parts receipts and warranties. Thanks.

Bidders, about two days into this auction, we still have a good ways to go. But, the good news is, slightly more than 25% of the reserve price has been offered. You're still walking at that price. Now, can I get a bidder out there?! Thanks

Well, How about that, try to get some bidding stirred and one bidder backs up. Who would have guessed that a ford guy didn't get it right? All right then, back at the start. Do I have another bidder? It's out there...

Here it goes, getting down to these last few hours. Got another bidder in there, thanks for what you have done. Is that how it is going to go, leave this truck here for the evil woman to continue to look at? Actually, she does kind of like it now sometimes(no, she does not think that it is sexy)... like when it is hauling mulch, sand, patio blocks, etc. She will even ride in it to direct... Anyway, can't give it away, she has mentioned what WE have invested... There you go, you need any easy out? Bring it home with a load of... well a load of what ever works best, of course. They understand... An easy truck to find use for if you don't already need it. You don't need it? Your friends do. Bet. An easy business to start and operate. Place 'Will Haul' sign on side, park outside nearest 'Big Box' store/yard. They will come. Just throwin' that out there. Pull your boat and trailer, great for that. Or, just keep on watching, it's all right. I do not mind keeping this one, she is probably going to continue to talk about it either way... What about a bidder now? :)
