Vehicle Description
1992 Chevy S-10 Tahoe Pickup, 4.3L V-6, extended cab, 4X4, manual transmission, two-tone paint (gray/silver), rear slider window. It does have working cruise control, but it is disconnected. No A/C. Never had it. I bought this truck years ago with thoughts of fixing it up and using it as my secondary daily driver. I did put over 11,000 miles on it over the course of about two years, but the more things I fixed, the more things broke. I finally gave up on it and parked it in my garage where it has sat for about 5 years. I've started it periodically as recent as about a year ago. I was going to take one more shot at making it a driver, but now it seems to have a ground issue. I can get it to barely start to turn over, but no matter how much power I put to it, I cannot get enough power to it to get it to start. I give up. My loss is your gain.
The body is in "semi-rough" condition. It has some dings , dents, scrapes, and rust, but I've certainly seen a lot of S-10's of this vintage that look worse. The interior is in good condition. The original seats were shot, so I replaced them with nice seats from a Chevy Citation X-11.
Items that will need attention in order to make it a driver: (1) Either the motor mounts are shot or the throw-out bearing, or something along those lines. When you let out the clutch slowly the whole truck shudders. If you dump the clutch, it is much better. (2) the ground issue(s). Before the latest no-start isue, it did also drain batteries. (3) Needs a battery (4) the rear differential should be checked. I think it is dry. (5) Needs an O2 sensor. Suspension is good. The 4X4 works, but like many S-10's of this vintage, the front hubs tend not to want to disengage.
I do have a black tailgate for it, but the hinges are rusted and need to be replaced before it can be installed.
By bidding on this truck you recognize that this is a project. Item is sold as is where is. It does not currently run and will need to be towed or trailered.
