First generation Chrysler Cordoba (1975-1979) The Chrysler Cordoba was first introduced for 1975, as an upscale personal luxury car; at the time the personal luxury market overall, was large and growing. The Cordoba's debut styling, well proportioned and graceful, is considered one of Chrysler's better efforts; although Cordoba is the name of a city in Spain; the car's emblem was actually a stylized version of the Argentine Cordoba coin. Either way, the implication and this theme was carried out with somewhat baroque trim inside and by having movie star Ricardo Montalban as the car's advertising spokesman. The standard 3-spoke steering wheel was redesigned, and a new "Tuff" small diameter sport steering wheel was now optional. To help save trunk space, a smaller "space-saver" spare became a no-charge option on the Cordoba models. The 400 V-8 is a Lean-Burn engine. The Lean-burn technology used a computer to take data on throttle position, engine speed, manifold vacuum, and engine temperature to adjust the timing to provide the most-economical (leanest) fuel mixture. It was the beginning of computerized engine controls that are common on today's cars. The GR78 X 15 white sidewall tires rode on 15 X 5.5-inch wheels. The brakes were still power front-disc and self-adjusting rear 10-inch X 2.5-inch drums. DETAILS ABOUT THE CORDOBA UP FOR AUCTION This Cordoba is the second 1976 that my father had purchased and driven on a regular basis. This Cordoba is a U.S. Midwest car, North Dakota, with a rare factory original 400c.i. 4-barrel big block with Sure-Grip differential for the US market, but not very popular in Canada. Non-Catalyst. Originally shipped from Canada to the USA. The Fresh Sherwood Green paint comes with perfect white vinyl roof. No rust, very original and as unmolested as you can get for a 32-year-old car. There are 93438 actual miles at time of the listing. The Cordoba is currently being driven once a week in good weather to keep up the smooth operation and to the car club for their events. Includes: The original sales brouchures and related paperwork. Two original Mopar electrical and body repair manuals One custom Cordoba full body dust cover. Misc. aluminum extra factory trim parts and extra spare component parts. The original air cannister for the space saver tire. There may be additional documents pertaining to the Cordoba in the files, if located will be included. The car was stored in a heated garage winters and was not driven in the rain when returned to Canada. The car owner was part of the local City Museum Historical Society and as well as the Rose City Car Club, Unfortunately my father is no longer able to care and complete the final touches to the car. I have inspected the chassis and I can honestly say that the under carriage is the best I have ever seen for a 1976 Cordoba here in Ontario,Canada. There are some exterior dings and small dents in the aluminium trim work, there are interior cosmetic blemishes as well as a crack on the dash. All of the functions work correctly, however the Air-conditioning will need a recharge, it has been converted from Freon to the current 134A type. Manufacture Date: 07 1976. VIN: SS22NR314414. Built: WINDSOR, ONTARIO, CANADA This car has a clear ownership and title. The Cordoba is ready to drive with no mechanical issues preventing it to be driven away that day of ownership transfer. The last certification was done two years ago in the Province of Ontario. The car is for sale locally and the auction may end early. I require a Paypal deposit of $200 in 48 hrs of the auctions end.
