Vehicle Description 1986 Chrysler LeBaron convetible "Mark Cross Special Edition" 2.2 L turbocharged 4-cylinder 3-speed automatic transmission 81,408 mi (not rolled overcar has a six-digit odometer) VIN: 1C3BC55E5GG265679 Almost everything in the car works, except the head gasket failed a couple days ago. The body looks good from 50 ft, but it has some bondo-filled repairs and some welded-up floorpan rust. The interior is good, with the exception of the driver seat. All electrical stuff works, the brakes work (and have a lot of new parts in them), and the tires have lots of tread remaining. The air conditioning needs a recharge of R-12, which is no longer available. The cruise control only works intermittently. The engine still works, but it pushes coolant into the oil (and exhaust into both). If you live nearby (say, from Palo Alto, CA to San Carlos, CA), you could almost certainly drive it home. According to ALLDATA, book time to change the gasket is 6.1 hours, though I always figure double the book time whenever I work on old Chryslers. Also, please note that I haven't pulled the head, so I don't know if there are any additional parts that will need replacement or machining. Given a day's work, the car could be a fun, low-cost summertime cruiser. Or, you could use it as a parts car for a nicer LeBaron convertible. There are at least a few hundred dollars worth of parts you could use or sell off of this car. The wheels are a few years old and the tires still have a lot of tread. Much of the brake system is new parts. There is an Addco sway bar in the front and relatively new firmer springs in the rear. The car is not smogged due to the repairs necessary. It passed well under the requirements in January 2007. The title is clean and in hand. The reserve price is $100 to cover the cost of the eBay listing. Also included: * A handful of spare parts * A nearly new car cover with custom holes for antenna and hood ornament * One full size spare tire (in addition to the compact spare, which was new in 2001) * The matching convertible top boot!
