1991 Chrysler TC Maserati - Near Mint
Original sale price: $42,564.oo
This TC is gorgeous. It’s minty. It’s a looker, and you just gotta have it!
Wow…Here’s a sharp Chrysler TC Maserati convertible top model, joint ventured by Chrysler/Maserati and stands ready to provide you with years of dependable enjoyment. Only 7,300 TCs were made by hand in Milan, Italy between 1989 – 1991. This is one of 1,635 TC’s made in 1991, and more specifically, one of the 409 Red TC's that were made among that lot. Originally designed to compete with the likes of the Mercedes 560 SL, Chrysler/Maserati pulled out all the stops to endow this unique sport coupe with luxury appointments.
Features:
Beautiful color combination featuring Deep Exotic Red exterior with a matching Removable Hardtop and contrasting Ragtop that is complimented by a matching plush Italian Black Leather Interior, accented with Chrome, plus Sport Gauges and Wood Dash, giving this convertible it’s elegant, sporty look. Choices? You've got'em. Hardtop, Ragtop, no Top. A true convertible.
Powered by a tremendous 3.0L V6 Cylinder Engine with an Automatic Transmission, a power train that is known to be as dependable as it is fuel efficient, equipped with lots of factory options, including Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Driver side Airbag, Four Wheel Anti-lock Brakes, 6 way Power Seats, Power Windows, Locks, Mirrors. Alloy Rims, Premium Infinity 10 Speaker Sound System, Power Antenna, Glass Rear Window w/defroster, and more! Plus the exterior is in superb shape, sans a scuff left by some inconsiderate shopper left on the driver side mirror, which can easily be restored. (See picture.)
Oh, yes...this TC is SMOKE FREE, if that's important to you.
Fuel Economy:
The TC is rated at 18 mpg City, and 24 mpg Highway. Pretty decent for a sport car.
Collectability:
Talk about unique! The following is an excerpt from an award winning commentary: "If you’re in the mood own an Exotic Convertible that can only appreciate in value, this is definitely one to consider. The 1989 - 1991 Chrysler TC by Maserati has been named one of the top five sleeper classics for under $10,000 US by Hemmings Special Interest Auto Magazine."
"1989-91 Chrysler TC by Maserati - Price range: $8,000 - $12,000"
This amazing 1991 TC has just over 40,000 miles on her! She’s barely been taken on the road compared to the rest of the Chrysler/Maserati TC’s on the road or in show rooms today. Check the specs for yourself. This coupe was only used for pleasure rides and she’s got your name written all over her.
In case you haven't already done so, check out the TC America Club. I mean there are car shows, road trips, competitions, blogs, user groups, TC clothing, you name it. This car is definitely in the running for competition.
There was a time where replacement parts were a concern, but with the advent of the almighty internet, you can get anything you need plus the support of your fellow TC owners online. Now's a great time to nab one of these sport coupes at a great discount price.
Where investment is concerned, I like what one writer says,
"While the TC is beginning to appreciate as an automotive investment. you should heed what is written in The Illustrated Shelby Buyers Guide - The only responsible advice that one can give in today's market is that a buyer should purchase a car for the very simple reason that he or she WANTS TO OWN IT. That way, while you might be pleasantly surprised later on, you'll never be disappointed. Don't buy one to make a pile of dough, buy it because YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE IT. In other words, buy that TC with your heart rather than your head."
Don't let it get away. Make us an offer today!
History:
This TC was originally purchased by a couple in Northern California's Wine Country for $42,564 plus CA use tax. This couple drove it for about 27,000 miles. My father spotted this immaculate car and picked it up for my mother in '98. She drove it a total of about 12,861 miles in 10 years! Do the math. That's about 1,286 miles a year! And it is still in immaculate, collectable condition. Why are we selling it? Our parents offered the car to us so that we could sell it and use the proceeds to fund our son's education.
Transaction:
We're supposing that we might want to use Paypal escrow service to protect both the seller and the buyer, but we're easy. Hello, TC lovers. This just in - we just had the TC fully serviced at our local shop: full maintenance service with all fluids changed including engine oil & lube, transmission, cooling system, gas filter, new spark plugs, brake service - new rear brake pads installed & rotors re-surfaced. Front brakes a-okay at 70%. New brake fluid of course! Tires rotated. Road tested and given a clean bill of health by our local ASE master mechanic. Hot off the press! Hello friends. We've got more PICTURES. Many of you were asking about the soft top, and we couldn't answer you with certainty about it's condition since it had not been off since 1998. Well today we carefully pulled the hard top off, took pictures, set the rag top up, and took more pictures for you. We couldn't post anymore pictures on ebay, however, so you are going to have to email us for a link to an online photo album. *Ebay policy has changed a bit recently about granting sellers some latitude to list links outside of ebay for informational purposes relating to the specific auction, but I don't want to risk shutting down the auction over a technicality. I just don't feel comfortable placing the link here. Just email me via ebay messaging and I'll send you the link. Fair enough? Fair enough. Okay, back to the pictures, we went to great lengths to add commentary with several pictures to describe every tiny little imperfection to minimize surprises. There are a few very minor dings - all pictured with commentary, so please review the picture set carefully. Remember that we had a major service done on the TC this week so that you could feel confident about your purchase. You can review my previous note for the specific work completed. Our ASE mechanic gave the TC a clean bill of health. So please, bid with confidence. Email us with any other questions and we'll do our best to get right back to you. Only please don't wait until the last second. Try to email us by noon PST on Saturday, July 12th so we have enough time to answer all your questions. Thank you all for your fabulous response. These truly are unique cars, and I wish you all well in your bidding. *(EBAY - we have not violated any ebay policies. This according to the information I received today from ebay customer service. The link I've encouraged bidders to email me about contains pictures and descriptions specific to this auction and is no way a solicitation for outside business or sales. Please, please do not shut this auction down. We've worked so hard to keep our buyers informed, and our buyers have had many questions. I would have gladly posted the pictures under ebay, but I had used my allotment of pictures already, and I don't know html. Thank you so much for your excellent service to our Buying and Selling Community.)
