1967 DODGE CORONET R/T WITH A HEMI
Up for auction is this true 1967 dodge coronet R/T wich in itself makes this a very collectable car to own. It came from the factory with a 365 horse 440 4bbl and a automatic trans, bucket seats ,floor shifter and console. It was built for getting to work during the week and racing on the weekend but like so many cars of this era where big blocks and big horse power were taken for granted and driven to the ground it too was retired from the road and left to maybe some day be brought back from the dead by the owner at the time but as with many that day never came for him or the car. Now fast forward to the mid 80s we can find this car sitting in a garage where the original motor and trans were sacrificed for a truck build and the owner had really lost all interest in the car and he just wanted to see it gone to make room for his new love the truck so it was purchased by the current owner who had looked at it and could see the potential to build the car of his dreams and he did as you can see in the following photos. That was a long time ago that it was transformed from a dead horse to a fire breathing animal and yes it has a true hemi. It has a 1957 chrysler 392 hemi bored 20 over with a 10/10 crank, new cam and pistons and rings new oil pump, unilite distributer, 2 carter 500 cfm carbs with hot heads intake and the headers are from a 426 modified to fit a 392. The motor was built by a local speed shop and has roughly 1000 miles on it since it was built with the estimated horse power at 475 horse.
To get that power to the wheels is a 727 auto trans(but there is a clutch pedal still in the car so it had a stick at some time) with a 8 ¾” 391 sure grip posi with coil over springs and ladder bar rear suspension. It also has a 16 gallon fuel cell mounted in the trunk with a electric fuel pump and filter on the back. It has heavy duty 2 ½” x11 ½” drum brakes all around that have all been re-built with new wheel cylinders and shoes. It has weld wheels all the way around new tires 15x14 on the rear and 15x7 on the front. The body has new paint and the jnterior is new also with a new set of racing seats and roll bar for safty. Even though it could be it has never been raced. So this could be your opportunity to own a true R/T with a real hemi. The book value for this car ranges between $17.680 on the low end to $64.640 for the high end with $36.000 for the average value so look at the pictures and ask any and all questions that you may have. I can be reached by email thru ebay or by phone at 231-206-5258 Thanx and good luck Kirk.
