Vehicle Description
Well, it's time to sell my big brown baby! I love these old Dodges, so I've finally gone to a 1993 diesel D250. therefore big brown has got to go. she's been very good to me! I bought this truck in Austin, Texas from a fireman who was the original owner. This was February 2002--the truck had 118,891 miles. He took great care of her. I moved to NY state in 2006, so this central Texas truck has only seen two winters, and I've washed her weekly during the winter. The truck runs great. I've changed the oil/filter religiously as the photo of the owners manual shows--always Castrol. She uses about 1 1/2 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles. Many new parts! Jasper transmission at 161,721 miles--this is the best tranny you can buy!! I changed the fluid at 210,000. Also there is an external trans. oil cooler. other new parts in the last 60,000 miles include: computer($260), muffler/catalitic converter/pipe, water pump/hoses(2007), brand new radiator(2007), alternator, U-joints, carrier bearing, belts, brake pads, rotors, steering center link, rear shocks, plug wires, distributer/rotor, air pump, --thats all I can remember! A/C blows cold! Cruise works-power windows-power mirrors-professional texas tint on windows. Timbren load booster rubber blocks between frame and axle--keeps you level under load and saves your leaf springs and shocks! bed is clean and solid! Tires are Toyo A/T open country, good amount of tread--I've been happy with them. There are two fold down seats in the back--so this truck seats five! Non-smoker--the cab is clean. New shocks for the front included--I never got around to installing them. Awesome stereo--Alpine single CD unit and FOUR new speakers--I put it in myself. Issues? not many--odometer broke at 221 K, on the trip to NY, since then I have been driving very little-20,000 miles at the most. Paint is faded in spots, a few small dings/scratches, still presents pretty well. Frame rust beginning, very minor. steering is a little loose, not bad. motor is strong as ever--you cannot stop a 318 that has been loved! Headlights are a bit dim. Plastic grill has a crack. doors sag a little on hinges--new bushings would fix. headliner starting to come down--(I didn't put the tiger stripe in, but people like it!) There is some slop in the rear-end, always has been, but it doesn't seem to be getting worse. The original jack is broken. The Tailgate works fine but you have to flip the small latch inside the bed. Anti-lock brake sensor is out--my mechanic says it's no big deal. So overall, the truck is very solid--high miles, but runs smooth, recently inspected, brakes adjusted, I love this truck. I was going to keep it and put a Jasper motor in if/when needed, but decided to go diesel. If you are close enough to come by, please call 607-227-2185 and take her for a spin. I will be glad to answer all questions. I can deliver the truck to Syracuse or Binghampton for shipping if desired. I'm not trying to make a fortune here, I just want my truck to go to a good new home. The start price is very reasonable, and no reserve. Of course, the truck is for sale AS IS, no returns. I've tried to convey all I know and will be glad to help with more info if I can. If you know much about these old dodges then you know that they are solid, great trucks. this is good one!!
