Vehicle Description
This is a 1989 Dodge ram 250 High Top Conversion. It has under 130,000 miles. It has a 318, V8 engine and automatic transmission. OPTIONS: Power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, cruise, tilt, AC, rear air unit, seperate front and rear stereo with cassette, 4 captains chairs, rear seat fold out bed, TV, roof rack, ladder, running boards, etc. It is FULLY LOADED, however, please realize that fully loaded in 1989 is not the same as fully loaded in 2008. Please don't ask me if it has CD, DVD, MP3, GPS,Cameras or anything modern...it does not. It was made when people still talked to their kids to keep them occupied and were able to turn their head and look when they backed up.
It runs well. I have never had any issues with the van mechanically. The body is in good condition with no rust or dents and the paint is in pretty good condition, with the exception of a few spots where the paint is fading and the whole van could use a wax job. It has steel wheels that could use fresh paint and one center cap is missing.
The tilt steering mechanism is INOPERABLE. The pin in the tilt wheel has come out, preventing the wheel from staying in a stationary position.
The tires are fair to good, okay to drive on, but will need to be replaced probably by winter.
The battery in it is currently DEAD from sitting. It will probably charge back up, but i want to list it as accurately as possible.
The interior is in good shape. Not ripped up or trashed, but does show the usual use and could use a carpet shampooing. I just shampooed everything last year and everything came very clean, so i'm sure it will again since it's not anything major. Nothing crazy like pet stains or murder scene stains, just the usual muddy kids feet here and there.
All the interior lights and TV work well, and there is an additional power port for a VCR or DVD player as well as overhead compartments on either side of the TV.
I am seriously considering ANY offers. The van has not been used for several months and is tieing up precious driveway space, so it has to go soon and i refuse to have it hauled off for scrap if someone can get some use out of it, but it WILL go to scrap if not sold in this listing simply because i need the space... so make an offer so it doesn't go to waste! The van was sold on ebay for $1,000 a few months back but the winner turned out to be a deadbeat. I don't want to drag this on forever so i am listing it as best offer to sell it as quickly as possible.
I do ask that you pick it up within 2 weeks after the end of the listing.
I am requiring a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 within 24 hours of end of listing with the remainder to be paid by paypal or cash at pick-up. I am doing this due to the previous deadbeat that wasted my time and held up the ban from someone else who could have not only bought it cheaper but would have followed thru on the deal.
It has been a good vehicle for us and has served us well, but with the distacne we travel and the gas prices i had to downgrade to a smaller van. Thanks for looking and good luck. Help me get my driveway back!
