Vehicle Description
1989 Ferrari Mondial Cab T - 20,000 miles white with dark blue scuro leather interior 2+2 and a trunk for golf clubs. Exterior of the car is in good shape with two areas of future concern one under driver’s side door and left rear taillight area exhibiting some surface corrosion under the paint. (not through the paint)Right side passenger door has been repaired due to a dent the size of a fist that was done professionally through Automotive International car restoration. Interior is as expected with a 19 year old convertible vehicle not perfect but does lack the usual bolster deterioration found on most older Ferraris. Stereo is original and is not the best but should not be the reason for your purchase. Two other small issues the power antenna does not extend and the solenoid for the gas access release if you want it to automatically open will need to be replaced. Neither has worked since my ownership. Car is sound and the major important mechanical components are perfect including the 30,000 mile full engine out service completed june 08 including: (not “fresh service” which is an oil change in 99% of the cases on resold older Ferraris on E-Bay)
Valve clearance adjustment with new shims, full belt service for air conditioning, timing, camshaft belt drive, new tensioners and bearings, new water pump including new modified bearing, new engine seals and gaskets, (zero leaks guaranteed) replacement of all coolant hoses, replacement of all fluids, idle speed adjustment, new air filter, inspect fuel injection system, replacement of fuel filters, check all wires and connections, change spark plugs and wires, inspect braking system, recharge air condition system. A full clutch replacement including new improved design throw out bearing and flywheel connector which generally is not included in the service but I had to replace the entire transmition because it was cheaper to replace instead of repair the original due to the loss of 4th gear. This was a 7k investment or surprise however you want to state it. Good news is that the trans in perfect order and totally gone through. The replacement came from a 1989 Mondial Cab t with 13,000 miles on it (The throw out bearing and flywheel connector are replaced with the new Ferrari upgraded versions) Also the dry clutch is repacked with the right grease and all new seals and gaskets in the entire transmition have been replaced zero leaks gaurenteed.
I have also done the following: replaced convertible boot with a new canvas one, rebuilt the alternator and the starter replaced the stock catalytic converters with stainless steel straight track cats and replaced the stock muffler with a new Stebro stainless system check out their website for what you should expect for the engine sound. (I just picked up the car yesterday and wow is all I can say on the engine note it turns heads) Other items to mention the original rims and tires were replaced with a 360 set giving it a real nice look prior to my ownership unfortunately they rubbed so I had to have the wheel wells rolled to prevent rubbing. Car is guaranteed that all of the service work is done on the car and is as fresh as you will find 28k in repairs and upgrades. I will include all of the receipts of repairs done along with the owner’s manual in a Ferrari leather case, tool pouch with the tools, one set of keys, and a full spare wheel. I only have reciepts from the last major service done in 2001 and then all reciepts that I acumulated. Canvas convertible top is in perfect condition and the plastic window is clear. Engine has received full engine cleaning detail plus I replaced the asbestoes air induction with a modern airflow tubing to the air box.
Last note to potential buyers there is no such thing as a cheap Ferrari especially with one with the proper services done. If you find such a deal like I did you will put the nesessary services to make sure it runs in perfect condition as this one is. Everything mechanically is in new condition and will require nothing to be done for any future service issue. I have included every detail on the car so there are no surprises when trying to decide on bidding on the vehicle.
