Vehicle Description
Rare 1967 Covered Headlight Fiat 850 Spider
Watch a video of it driving!
This car belonged to a college student who had inherited it from his uncle who I believe was the original owner. He had dreams of restoring his eighties Corvette(he was obviously taste-challenged) so the poor Fiat sat in his garage looking rather forlorn. We basically rescued it but have so many cars we don't get to exercise it much and are hoping a new owner would use it more often. It is blast to drive (though a bit loud as the rear most muffler is absent).
It runs and drives great. Drive anywhere and enjoy now or take it to the next level or even make an Abarth tribute car. It fires right up, all the gauges work, the lights are all good (even the interior courtesy lights work). The body numbers match and all of the glass is original.
Recent new tires(2), brakes and rebuilt carburettor.
I'm pretty sure this is the only year for the covered headlights.
It has an older paint job that is far from perfect with the largest dent on the driver's door.
I am not a car expert but will attempt to answer all questions by email or phone so if you have questions please ask before bidding. Phone 619-957-2147. I've heard that when running one of these auctions people call or email asking what the reserve is but I am not going to disclose it. We've set the reserve below what we have in it so the market will decide the selling price.
(NOTE: Early in the week of May 4 someone stole photos of this car an ran a scam on eBay. I hope no one got burned.)
The body number stamps match the chassis plate and title.
All of the glass is original.
I think the photos and the video pretty much speak for themselves but its best not to assume anything. If you have questions please ask before bidding.
We have not driven it long distances but you may want to fly in and drive it home if you are the adventuresome sort (keeping in mind it is a 40 year old un-restored car).
If you are the winning bidder please contact us within 48 hours to arrange purchase, otherwise we may have to offer the car to the next highest bidder.
We expect full payment to be made within 1 week by wire transfer or cash (in person).
Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but we can help you arrange it.
It is sold strictly as is with no warranty, expressed or implied.
Shipping is simple and inexpensive. To most distant continental US locations is only about $1000 and that also will get the car all the way to Germany, England or The Netherlands! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
