This auction is for a 1962 Fiat 600 suicide doors with 767cc engine with 4 cylinders and water-cooled. The Fiat 600 with suicide doors were made between 1955 to 1964. After end of 1964 the doors were changed.
I have been collecting various microcars for the last 15 years and accumulated a large number of cars in various degrees on restoration and some project cars. It is now time to reduce my collection. I try to give you a very honest view of the condition and please don't hesitate to ask questions and if able to come directly and see the car for sale.
The Fiat 600 is now becoming more sought after by collectors worldwide. It has been going up in value with restored original cars selling for $15000 and modified to racing car version selling for over $20000.
This is a project car! The car needs a complete restoration, interior and exterior. It is complete and even has all of its rare original aluminum trim. This car is an earlier model with the highly sought after suicide doors. This models was made between 1955 to 1964. The underneath is in good shape, quite solid with only few small holes. There is a point of rust through in the left front quarter panel above the wheel arch. There is paint bubbling in the right passenger side. The front hood doesn't close well. There are a few dents in the back panel. The interior is complete with all original parts including the front and rear seats.
The engine was just checked by a Fiat mechanic and it is running very well with good compression. The transmision and clutch work well. Also it is driveable but brakes need checking. It needs a fuel gauge. The cover of the the air filter is missing but you can easily find it on ebay.
As a collector, I would like to see this car be bought by someone who would restore it to its former glory, but it can be used to transform into a racing Abarth replica or as a last resort used for parts. This car is sold complete and not in parts though.
The car is located in Toronto and you are welcome to come and see the car personally and I can pick you up at the airport, the car is located only 20 minutes drive from Toronto's Pearson international airport. It is around an hour and half drive from Buffalo. I will assist the buyer with finding transportation if needed. Regarding the transport cost, please check with your local companies for estimates. Please check the pictures carefully. The car is sold in the condition as is and there is no warranty. For US residents interested in buying the car, there is no problem to export from Canada to USA.
