This is the ninth Ford Crown Victoria that I have owned, from a foam green 1995, through a 1996 which was flattened by a tree in my driveway during a windstorm up to a 2004 which had to go to pay my taxes-all great cars, and great drivers- but this one IS THE BEST I EVER HAD!!! Driven since new (and serviced meticulously by the book) by the patrol area inspection Sergeant in the Sheriff's Dept of an immense Oregon county, this was a five day week car-when the man was off-duty, so was the car! It was kept by the Sheriff for twice the normal length of service-Sarge LOVED HER. The "wraith" he called this Crown Vic P-71 patrol pursuit car, whether he was referring to it's Rolls-Royce type reliability, or the instant almost silent power available on demand I am not sure-both are applicable. No seaside service, so NO RUST! Always driven and pampered by a caring auto-savvy Sheriff Dept pro, this car carried NO PRISONERS-back seat is like brand new. NO SMOKING-EVER!! This car was a one owner since new vehicle when I bought it, I have driven it daily for many thousands of miles and it has performed like a champion. No-one cuts in front of you, or attempts to shove you off the road, the person who zooms down menacingly on your tail when you are in the fast lane usually changes their mind when they see the spotlight, and very seldom is the driver who loves to whip all comers from green lights around. People act like human beings around this car, and I have more fun than a monkey's uncle driving it. Speeding trucks start driving legally when I hove into view, its like I have a giant rope attached to them! This car has also calmed me down from a fairly frequent ticket getter to a sensible considerate driver-you feel you have to set a good example, I guess. Since I bought the P-71 from the county I have maintained the 3000 mile service interval, and have had regular inspections made of all running gear at those times, as well as any time I felt or heard something untoward. Just recently I bought a set of speed rated Dunlop V-touring tires, had a 4-wheel alignment and replaced an upper ball joint. This car is ready to jump in and drive to Honduras if you wish to! All the optional packages are installed and tuned, the computer chip upgrade, the handling pack, performance pack, and police pursuit options-you just have to install your own emergency light pack if you are entitled to it. No ugly push-bar bumper and good looking full wheel covers fit the ultra heavy duty steel wheels. Aluminum drive shaft, limited slip differential, and a super gear ratio gives the driver immense (silent) power when needed and pretty decent gas mileage (22 mpg on the hiway and 18 around town) Not too shabby for a Lincoln Town Car in disguise Roomy, comfortable, power to spare and terrific visibility-the mirrors are marvellous!-easy to find in Disney's parking lot and totally reliable! Keep up the service intervals and this vehicle can easily achieve the ONE MILLION MILES that New York cabs consistantly drive! I have driven her to Mexico ( I park at the last San Diego tram station and go to the Tijuana Airport in a cab) up to Vancouver, Canada and to visit my daughters in Colorado this car does what you want it to do, when you want it to. I once had to stop in a real hurry in heavy trafficon Highway 5 and the quick transition from 85mph to ZERO was accomplished by the GIANT 4-wheel disk brakes with no squirreling or fishtailing and it was only because the guy behind me was driving a new BMW that was able to shoot sidewise and get by me that I was not rear-ended. This car is really a super performer and yet you could teach your teenager to drive in it without too much stress. Everything works beautifully, and whatever dings, dongs and scratches there are on the car are all minor and have to be hunted for. I never did repair the driver's seat which has the usual minor damage from the weapons belt, it is only about $49.00 to replace the panel but I just never did-that is about the only thing wrong with the whole vehicle. Whoever buys this Crown Victoria will love her, and I will provide a brand new badge for the trunk lid saying "Police Pursuit" the old one got stolen and I just never put on the new badge. I will gladly drive this car to the nearest DAS pickup point ( Medford OR) which is about 100 miles from my home for $100.00 over the price of the winning bid, this covers gas for two cars going down and one back, plus lunch for my extra driver and myself. Good luck bidding, have fun and enjoy a truly splendid "old horse" that looks just like a 2007! On Jun-29-08 at 21:26:48 PDT, seller added the following information: robertwbsvr Store
