To keep up with demand for the F-Series trucks, Ford now has five plants scattered across the country with a total manufacturing capacity of nearly 700,000 units per year.
Like the Chevrolet C/K trucks and the Dodge Ram - the Fords only true competitors - the F-Series comes in a huge array of short-and long-wheelbase body styles. And so that the specific needs of all commercial or personal-use customers are met, there are style and performance choices galore: 2- and 4-wheel drive; Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab body styles; Styleside and Flareside designs in trim models of Special, XL, XLT.quarter-, half- and three-quarter-ton load ratings; and a range of five gasoline and diesel engines and three transmissions.
