Classic 1969 Ford Fairlane 500, 2-Door Hardtop. They are also known as a "Formal Coupe". ALL original car (except wheels). VIN code is 9R33F. Built at the San Jose California assembly plant. Door ID tag reads; Body code: 65B = Fairlane 500 Formal Coupe. Color: M = White. Trim (interior): 5B = Blue. Date of Build: 27M = December, 1968. DSO: 74 = Seattle, (sold new in Corvallis Oregon area). Axle: 3 = 2.79:1 (good ratio for gas mileage). Transmission: W = C4 Automatic. 302-V8, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, AM Radio. NO other options. Good straight, SOLID body, Original White paint Blue interior. Local one owner car for most of it's life, from Monroe, Oregon. Needs some restoring, but still in much better overall condition than a "project" car. Runs drives, but has been sitting for several years, should be transported on a tralier to it's new location. You can restore it as original, or, just add a Ford hood scoop and make a GT or Cobra Jet clone. Body; The body is STRAIGHT, with only a few minor parking type lot dents, which are so small they don't show up in the pictures. Very SOLID car, with only minimal surface rust in a few spots. The floors, trunk under side of the car are also SOLID. The grill, bumpers, lights Window glass all look good too. ALL the chrome is in place as it should be, none missing. Interior; The dash(no cracks), door panels, headliner, back seat have faded over 40 years, but are still in good condition. The Front Bench seat is ripped torn where the driver sits, and needs to be reupholstered. There are new front seat skins available in the MAC's Fairlane parts catalog. I removed the old carpet, and I have a NEW carpet I will give with the car. The lights, heater/defroster, horn, and even the AM radio are in working order. It has the typical safety switch problem, where sometimes it will start in the normal "Park" position, but sometimes you need to put it in "Neutral" to start it. Why not "road worthy"? Because, It has been sitting for the last several years. 1. Worn, weathered, cracked sidewall, MAYPOP tires. 2. Wheels are rusty. 3. Brakes are squeaky soft. 4. May need shocks and/or front suspension parts. 5. Needs complete tune-up. 6. In other words, it need's some basic maintenance before being driven on the street.
