You are bidding on a Brown 1976 Ford LTD with the 351 Modified engine. A bit of a project car, but I did drive this around as my primary vehicle for a few months.
Before I tell you what's right with this, here's what's wrong:
It needs a new starter. It actually has a new (rebuilt) starter in the trunk, I just haven't found the time to put it in.
One of the cylinders has only 80% compression. The engine runs fine that way, but I always wanted to fix it.
The carpet is 32 years old, and looks it. I'd either replace it, or just pull it out.
Some of the plastic trim bits are loose or generally old-looking.
The radiator hoses need to be replaced.
By now, the battery almost certainly needs replaced. I haven't run it since the starter went out.
The radio doesn't work. Its 32 years old as well, though, so you'd need a new one anyway. At least its broken in FM. Not one of those cheap broken AM radios.
I think its missing one hubcap.
Now, here's why you should buy it.
77,000 original miles.
The air conditioning works. Converted to that OU812 stuff and everything. Though by now it might need a top-up.
New suspension (well, new 2 years ago, then I stopped driving it. Thats still new).
New exhaust and muffler.
New starter (still in the box ;) )
Good body. No known crashes.
New universal joint.
Working power steering.
Very comfy seats.
Power seats. Not many had this in 1976. And they work.
Manual (crank) windows. This is a good thing. You don't want the kind of power windows they made in 1976. You might want to, you know, roll them down someday.
Nice dashboard. Nice instruments, lights, stuff like that. Overall the interior is nice. Just not the carpet.
Its huge. People in hybrids will jump onto the sidewalk just to get out of your way. People in pick-ups will feel unmanly and go buy Hummers.
It goes fast. Faster than you really should go. Really. Ask me about the ticket my ex got for speeding in a construction zone in this buggy. It might sell for less.
Basically, its a good car. But I'm moving to england, and it just won't fit on my carry-on. Or the roads there. Ever been to england? Very small roads. Tiny cars too. So, I'm selling this and the 96 Lincoln continental, and moving to the land where Geos are midsized sedans, and the cars I like to drive must be registered as small yachts. I'll miss my big old cars, but I'm sure one of you will have fun with them.
Insection. This car was inspected when I registered it.... Probably in 2004.
I'm not a smoker. I didn't smoke in it. I really don't know if the folks i got it from did. Doesn't smell like it.
Payment: I'll take paypal. I'll take a cashiers check or cash, so long as you're fast.
Delivery: No. You'll have to come and get it. Up to you if you tow it home, push it, take it down to the parking lot to put in the starter and drive it home, or just ghost-ride it down the hill and crash it into the lamp and lighting store. Warn them first, though. They're nice people.
