On October 2, 1908, Henry Ford introduced the Model T and changed the world forever. 100 years to the day later, on October 2, 2008, I would like to offer this 1926 Model T Coupe in near original configuration and condition, frame and engine numbers matching, to the highest bidder and change your life. I bought this with the idea of tinkering with, fixing it up and keeping it until it turned 100 years old in 2026 and then having a party to celebrate its centennial but alas circumstances dictate that I sell it. It has the desirable Ruckstell 2-speed rear end (that I've never shifted due to the fact that I am still teaching myself how to operate the car in its basic configuration). The ignition was converted to a battery and Bosch distributor before I bought it and it starts and runs fine that way. I'm told that the radiator is a improved type and the car does not overheat when I'm driving around the hilly neighborhood. There is an aftermarket water pump but it's not hooked up. All the body, fenders, etc. are original Ford steel. It has had safety glass installed sometime in the past as it was previously registered in California and I'm led to believe that CA requires safety glass be installed in any car registered for the road. Besides the hand crank it is equipped with the electric starter that was an option in 1926 and the car starts and runs like I'm told it should (this is my first Model T that I've ever been in let alone driven. I've pretty much learned as I've gone along, and I'll add with lots of awesome help from folks on the Model T Ford Club of America's forum website, just post a question and answers and advise pour in, check out mtfca.com). Before I owned this car I'd never owned, or even ridden in, a Model T and it has been a great time getting it tuned and having fun with my grandson. I am offering it with NO warranty expressed or implied so do bid accordingly. Transportation will be the responsibility of the winning bidder and I should point out here that the T is currently offered for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if it does sell. IMPORTANT: I will accept a $500.00 deposit via PayPal, the balance is to be paid in CASH upon delivery. Winning bidder will have 10 days to finalize payment and pick the car up or make any arrangements for storage in Reno, I will do what I can to help but PAYMENT IN FULL will be due no later than 10 days after auction's end. I have a Webshots.com album of even more pictures so if you are interested please contact me with your email address and I will send it to you (I will NOT post your email address or any other personal information to the auction). Please do not bid if you do not have the funds available to finalize a purchase, I reserve the right to cancel bids placed with any negative feedback or zero feedback, I will NOT send this T out of the USA so please don't ask. Thanks for looking.
