Introducing the "Widow Maker"--Great street rod project and or drag car. This T-Bucket roadster body is made from the original steel of what is believed to be a 1918 Model T Ford Touring Car body, shortened up to keep the bucket form of the back of the car. Windshield frame is made from a pair of Model T split windsheild frames making it have the low profile as shown in the pics. The car is built from all vintage parts with the exception of the drive train. Three Model T frames were used to create the tubular chassis capable of handling some serious horsepower, the main frame being from a 1926/27 Model T with the wider rear cross member to better accomadate the coil spring rear suspension with one frame section laminated inside the other on each side. Another Model T frame with angled cut is mounted underneath main frame for rearend swinger bar mounts. A Ford 9" rearend is installed, narrowed up 4" to place drive shaft on center. Front axle is original Model T and is dropped approximately 10" by utilizing a rear cross member in front with the post mount for the front cross leaf spring. Front axle spindles have been reversed to place the tie rod in front of the frame. Front cross leaf spring shackle frogs set up the caster of the front wheels so axle is not reversed, just the spindles. An extra beefed up front cross leaf spring is included plus a spare standard spring. Two chrome coil over shocks are included for the front axle stability. Model A Ford Hubs are installed on the front axle with 1935 Ford 16" spoked wheels. Have an extra wheel for a spare and or 2 Yamaha 18" 7 spoke motorcycle mag wheels with disk brakes and calipers which can be mounted on the front spindles by doing some machining work to mount them, making the car even more radical than it already is. The 9" rear end center point is a few degrees above the swinger bar center point thus converting some of the forward thrust to downward thrust giving it the ladder bar effect for traction. Position of the engine creates good weight transfer to the rear axle. Wheelie bars are definitely a necessity when running on the strip. Not legal on the street so must be detachable. Two extra rear end gear clusters are included and not sure of ratios, so one for street and cruising, one for 1/4 mile drag and one for 1/8 mile if desired. None of these are positraction so posi kits are needed. All gears are in good shape. Radiator is a near mint Harrison honeycomb replacement for Model T and very rare with a mint radiator shell to go with it. Have matching rear fenders and step plate running boards with mounting brackets from a Model T truck that will bolt right up to the fenders. Passenger side door has some pimple dents and some rust through but a mint extra door skin is included. A very tight 1940 chevy truck steering sector is included with custom chrome wood spoked steering wheel and also universal joint shafts to aid in tying in the steering shaft to the gear box. Motor is a 351 Ford H.O. (high output) windsor long block only, out of a mid 80's Mustang GT with about 45,000 miles on it, mounted on sliding motor mount for easy set up of complete drive train. Also has Mercury syncro 3-sp tranny with floor shifter. Bell housing, clutch, preasure plate, flywheel and drive shaft are needed. Vintage bullet headlights, hand brake lever with rocker bar, clutch-brake pedal assembly, Model A front bumper and rear bumperettes with mounting brackets are included. Several cross members are included for choice of rear transmission mounting. A tranny with a very short tail shaft housing should be used or use the Mercury tranny included and machine it down shorter to have more room for a very short drive shaft. This car has been called a death sled by those in the know and a great project for the serious builder. Would like to see vintage parts theme maintained when finishing this monster. Title needs to be acquired by the buyer. Took years of collecting parts and about 250 hours labor to bring the car to this point and well over $1,000 spent for parts.
