I bought this truck approximately eight years ago from the original owner with 72K miles on it and in non-running condition. After getting it home, I quickly noted that the timing belt was broken - obviously it could not run without it. I replaced the timing belt, gave it a tune-up and it ran like a swiss watch. As I am a past Mazda Motor of America (manufacturer) employee, I had a sweet spot in my heart for it. As the body also needed a little attention, I also gave it a once over. By the way, this vehicle is completely a Mazda with exception of the 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder Pinto motor in it. The rocker panels had a little rust which was replaced with galvanized sheet metal and both front fenders were replaced with new ones. Also noted at that time was a few spots on th frame which had rusted through. THese spots were patched with 1/8' steel and re-undercoated. The truck now has over 104K miles on it and it has never let me down. It has hauled so much over the years that it has paid me back many times over compared to what I put in it. How is it equipped? 2.3 Liter Ford 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed trans, heater, AM'FM Cassette with a 30 watt amp - thats about it. Overall it runs great (can be a bit cold blooded) and everything works as it should. The bad: the frame has once again rusted through in a few spots and needs attention. Believe me, I still drive it as is yet it really should be repaired. The worst is at the rear shackle mount of the right rear leaf spring. The mount itself appears to be loose yet it has been this way for a couple years with no problems. I can's state this enough: The Engine, Trans and Rear End are fantastic. The body is very nice for its age (paint is fading - the truck was wet in the pics making it look shiny - it's not). The frame is the only source of concern. Buy it for the parts or take the bed off and get out your mig welder. Please keep in mind you could easily drive it home (one tire is kind of bad) but really this is a fixer upper. Please come and view the truck or call for further information - call Chuck at 715-334-6210. I want a happy buyer so ask any and all questions you might have before you bid. Thanks for LOOKING!
