Vehicle Description
"NO RESERVE"
1964 FORD ECONOLINE PICKUP
"CALIFORNIA DREAMING"
**********************************
Up for bids with NO RESERVE we have a 1964 Ford Econoline Pickup Truck. These little trucks are getting more scarce all the time, most of them ended up with some crazy nitro burning 60's big V-8 in them to make the front end stand up. The rest ended up with probably 400,000 miles of delivery service on them and then crawled their way into an old salvage yard. This is not the case with this little surviver. We have a newspaper ad showing where the previous owner had bought the truck locally. It was actually licensed and insured in 2002 and we were told by his daughter that he drove it everyday all around the little town of Oran, MO. The Econoline's of the early 60's have a very small following so it was difficult for us to decode the door tag with internet info. We believe however that this truck has the original engine, transmission, and rearend. We will try our best to describe everything on the truck, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to call!
***********NO RESERVE***********
The engine is a 170 Cubic inch 6 cylinder that appears to be rated at 85 horsepower. The engine does run but needs a lttle coaxing from starter fluid, it seems to idle fine after I re-gapped the points. Someone has put on a new fuel pump, filter, battery, and some new battery cables. The starter is a little weak but does spin the big 6 over ok. It even has the original oil bath cleaner!
***********NO RESERVE***********
The tranny is a 3 on the tree, it seems to shift out fine, it must have airplane gears in the back because 2nd was enough for me. The transmission isn't all nasty with oil and grease and seems to be pretty tight. The clutch works fine and comes off the floor easily. Not sure of the rearend gears but they must be high. I believe the rear is a nine inch cause it is identical to my 68 Torinos. It doesn't slip, and pulls this little pickup right down the road.
***********NO RESERVE***********
The body and glass on this 64 Ford is in very nice shape, there is some bondo to be expected, but overall this truck is in really good shape. The bed has very little rust in it that is actually see thru. The doors are straight as well as the floor pans. The original heater blower motor will run you right out of the cab. Interior does leave a little to be desired, someone has put in their own carpet and cheesy seat covers, but more than likely its next owner will go back to original. It's not far from that now! Engine cover is not all cracked up and it is nice and straight. Headlight rings are in good shape along with working headlights. Brakes are completely gone. We have the original mirrors as well as the Ford and Econoline emblems.
***********NO RESERVE***********
All in all this 64 Ford truck offers something most fixer uppers don't, it already runs and drives as well as a clear title. A great father/son project that even the tightest of budgets can afford. Bid with confidence as this 64 Ford pickup WILL SELL!!
