An absolutely exceptional and beautiful example of this original southern California coveted 'black plate' 1971 Ford Ranchero GT Pick Up with it's original matching # 351 Cleveland 2V V8 engine (rebuilt with approximately only 30K miles since the rebuild), automatic transmission, working and new ice-cold air conditioning equipment, working heater with rebuilt heater core, rebuilt rear end, 30 gallon gas tank, power brakes, fairly new tires, new radiator and air shocks, new starter, new gas gauge, recent major tune up, after market CD player, locked trunk lid, completely original interior apart from newly upholstered bench seats interior and matching original green color new carpet and kick panel carpet with only the original dashboad showing signs of wear in the form of some cracks. Please note that a new plastic dash cover has been pre-ordered and will be fitted prior to sale at our cost if requested. The Ranchero was launched from Dearborn, Michigan in 1957 as the industry's first ever car/pick-up, two years before Chevrolet's belated response of the 'El Camino'! Undeniably handsome and perfect for the small businessman in the service industry, the model evolved in the late sixties into a full force muscle machine! In 1969 the Ranchero GT was offered with the 351 Cleveland engine or the ultimate 428! The Ranchero was upsized again in 1970, longer, wider and lower than before in it's ultimate incarnation that lasted for only two years before the gas crisis ended the muscle car era in Detroit. This particular GT came with the factory hood scoop, tachometer, A/C and highly desirable 351 cleveland V8 engine! Always garaged with no history of any accidents and absolutely no rust whatsoever and lovingly maintained since new by it's sole southern California owner driver since new with absolutely no expense spared. This rare truck must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - the engine is extremely strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no oil leaks and which sounds absolutely magnificent, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool. The truck has been repainted last year after being stripped to bare metal with four coats of new paint close to it's original green factory color with a very professional finish. Every option is working as it should including the A/C. With only very few miles since it's engine rebuild, this is one very fine example of this collectable and most desireable 1971 year of the legendary Ford Ranchero GT, an original southern California (with coveted original California 'black plates') truck with no rust whatsoever of this rare turn-key ready daily appreciating, daily driving and daily head-turning all time classic American muscle truck with it's original matching # 'H' code 351/240HP V8 engine and highly desirable original hood with the factory hood scoop!
