Up for auction today is a 1978 GMC Sierra 2500 Crew Cab LWB pickup. This is a great old truck I originally bought for hauling stuff around, pulling my tractor, and just doing odds and ends around the house. I really haven't been using it that much so after a lot of bitching and moaning about it from my dad (who is also my partner) I've decided to sell it. The engine is a Goodwrench 454 crate motor. No idea how long ago it was replaced, but it runs strong. The Turbo 400 automatic tranmission shifts out perfectly as well. The tires on it are either new or like new. They have really great tread. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this truck anywhere. It has good oil pressure, good volts, and doesn't run hot. The body is solid as well. There is just a little bit of rust on the driver's rocker panel, but that's it. None of the usual cab and floor rot you find on most of these trucks. The bed is NOT rusted out...the paint has just worn off and there are some leaves in the pics. This is a real Southern truck that has worked hard, but held up very well. The big push bumper on front means you don't have to worry about people getting in your way either. It has dual gas tanks for extra range (you may need 'em) and they switch back and forth just fine. Nitpicks: The radio comes on but doesn't play. The a/c isn't cold, but it isn't like you really expected it to be did you? When the engine is warm and you restart it there is a little bit of smoke, but it goes away. It's just valve stem seals, but it didn't bother me so I haven't worried with fixing it. PAYMENT Neverming what it says elsewhere...full payment due with FIVE days. We accept cash (in person), money order, cashier's check, or bank-to-bank wire transfer. I can store it at no charge up to 60 days as long as I'm paid for it. SHIPPING We'd prefer you pick it up, but we will be glad to work with the shipper of your choice. The truck can be picked up at my house outside of Raymond, MS 39154. If you fly in, I'll pick you up at the airport during regular hours monday-friday. Weekend pickup may be possible, but only with advance notice.
