Vehicle Description
This is a one-of-a-kind Typhoon. From the history the previous owner gave me the Ty had been a show car ("Critical Condition", see tailgate painting) for most of it's life. When he got it he replaced the big block Chevy that was in it with the small block 350 Chevrolet L98 TPI since the big block was mostly for looks. The custom paint with the ghost flames and sparkles (fairly subtle unless you're in the right kind of light), the custom TAZ and Typhoon logos, removal of the roof racks, was all done by the folks who made the Ty into a show car. The interior is pretty much stock, but with such low miles in really nice shape. When I got the car, a couple of years ago, I put in the turbo system, the intercooler system, the water injection, the stereo system, the swaybars and shocks and fixed a lot of little things. I hate to sell it but I have too many other cars and projects. Here's an overview: Engine: 1992 L98 Corvette, TPI, Chrome covers, HEI, Borg Warner S-200 Turbocharger, mid-body mounted Water to air intercooler for intake air (2 ½ in, 2 ½ out), Air to water intercooler, front mounted, Electric Water pump for intercoolers, Turbo Werx electric oil scavenge pump for turbo oil, 2 ½ piping for intake, Silicone connectors, K & N air filter, Aquamist water injection, Tial 38 mm wastegate with boost control valve inline, Dual electric radiator fans, thermostatically controlled, Spintech muffler. Suspension, wheels, tires: Belltech front and rear heavy duty sway bars, KYB rear shocks, Front torsion bar system, Front disc brakes, 17” Chrome Corvette ZR-1 wheels, 275/40/Z17 Sumitomo Front tires, 315/35/Z17 Sumitomo Rear tires. Heavy duty rebuilt transmission with shift kit. Stereo: Alpine CDA 9855 Head unit with remote and complete instruction manual, Alpine MRP M450 Amplifier for subwoofer, Alpine MRV F540 4 Channel Amplifier, JL Audio 12W3V2 12” woofer, Infinity Kappa 462.7 front plate two-way speakers, JL Audio VR525 evolution component kick panel speakers with Q-logic custom panels, Alpine type R 6x 9 speakers (in rear seat area). Gauges: AC Autotechnic S7 glow gauges: Boost, Oil pressure, Water temperature, Air/fuel. Illuminator tachometer with black-out face. Paint and body: Original cladding in good shape, Show quality paint with subtle multi-colored sparkle, Ghost flames, Custom Typhoon logos and Tazmanian Devil airbrush art, No dings or dents. Notice in the pictures that the two amplifiers, the 12" woofer, and the battery are all hidden in what looks like a spare tire cover in the back (my wife sewed the cover out of an acoustically transparent black fabric). The pictures also show those items without the cover over them. For a stock Typhoon the Edmonds blue book value, at least in this area is 1/ Private party appraisal: $12,098; 2/ Dealer retail: $16,789. It's value, of course, since it's modified as it is, depends on who might want something like this one. There are a few "bad" things. There is a burnt area in the headliner above the driver's side sun visor. Apparently there was a dash fire at one time. All the damaged parts have been replaced except for that part of the headliner. There is a paint flaw on the driver's door. It's been painted over but you can still find it if you know where to look. The cruise control works (aftermarket) but it is not quick or precise. The passenger's door electric lock will unlock with the driver's door master switch, but not lock that way. I know there's more to tell but that's what I've got for now. Please feel free to ask any questions. I want the new owner to be completely happy with this vehicle.
